The Petersham Potters may have a terrible track record on the pitch, but coach Dapperdan is optimistic that this team has a lot of potential and has been throwing a lot of money into the development of the squad. Team Captain Weeping Willow has played in every single Potter's match and is under strict instructions from the coach to keep up squad morale and train fellow Treeman Lhurgoyf in the art of throwing halflings and crushing skulls!

Veteran players Marcus Swiftbottom, Dixon Bainbridge and Piter De Vries have been there from the start and despite their injuries can still give "able" bodied opponents a run for their money. Bainbridge in particular likes to shout out encouragement from the sidelines whilst downing an ale or seven! At the moment all eyes are on the new halfling blitzer - Lawrence Shortshanks whose strength and blocking ability are catching the eyes of other coaches!

Their 50th match against another halfling team (Halfosh) was a bloody affair. The game ended in a draw but when the dust settled, the Potters had lost 3 players - Pip Knottingham took a kinghit from Deeproot Strongbranch; Bon Bon Brewster died after a failed throw by the team captain and veteran Honey Ramone died after mistiming a dodge. To rub salt in the wound up and coming Blitzer Lawrence Shortshanks slipped in the final turn of the match earning a groin sprain!

The Potters 51st match was another bloodbath (and draw) against veteran gobbos "Splooch". Most of the match was played in pouring rain which helped wash a lot of the blood away. Eight casualties for the Potters including 2 deaths and 2 niggles, unfortunately we lost new rookie Pepperbottom; Spudz had his neck broken and Cheeks had his hand maliciously smashed by a pair of angry trolls - which may well end his career.

So it has been quite a few years but the Potters are BACK! They now have a full squad with some nice faces and a new plan. Mack Luger is still in charge of the team and they have only lost two of their last 5 matches.

Plumb Dukett's luck finally came unstuck against Bullvine Badtime when he was lobbed down the pitch towards the endzone by Weeping Willow. Unfortunately he mistimed the landing and not even the team apothecaries could save him - RIP Plumb, we will miss you.

The Potter's 61st match against the Skaven "Welde Guys" has been their most violent match to date, with 16 casualties inflicted between both of the teams. The Skaven ran down every ball, stole possession and hammered the Potter's front line. Piter managed to take out both gutter runners early in the piece, but the blitzes and blocks did not stop. Lhurgoyf took a hit from their Rat Ogre resulting in a career stopping niggle; emerging star Puck Peebles and Quincy Johnson had their backs broken by a sneaky Storm Vermin who managed to smuggle knuckledusters into the ground! Rookie Jeffrey Tipton took a coathanger in the neck, and newbies Barry Adamson & Gulliver both died in mistimed blocks and bungled throwing attempts respectively. The coach was understandably upset by this loss however the fans loved it, resulting in a bigger paycheck for the match! Dapperdan is now trying to rebuild the squad so they won't be forced into an early retirement! Watch this space, the Petersham Potters may be coming to a pitch near you!

It was a sad day today for the Potters. In their 65th game vs Ubehageligt the Ogre assault was relentless, firstly Piter De Vries had a near death experience then Lawrence Shortshanks took a shoulder charge which promptly ground him into the dust! Quincy Johnson also headed to the morgue in what was a tight game with very few scoring opportunties.

Another sad day for the Potters with wiley Veteran Dixon Bainbridge Junior being laid to rest in a game against Brainsss. Tragically Bainbridge didn't even see the zombie coming and even the medics couldn't put him together again!

Game 78 was a landmark in the Potter's history. In their first FUMBBL knockout qualifier against the very tough orcy team "Eazy Mode" the Potters were demolished 4-0 in short order. Weeping Willow was miraculously saved by apoc Pegs McGee but they never stood a chance from the starting whistle. Coach Dapperdan was upbeat about the experience "This is one of the biggest matches we have ever played, it was a privilege for every player out there. Hopefully this will lead to greater crowds at our games so we can put more money back into the team. Go the Potters!".

Just when things were starting to come together for the Potters, disaster struck a tragic double blow against the Amazonian's Pontus Arrows. Puck Peebles was killed in a vicious tackle by an Amazonian blitzer and in the very last seconds of the match Marcus Swiftbottom mistimed a block and fell on his own spikes, killing himslef in the process! Once again the coach has had to hire some new recruits but these 2 veterans will be sorely missed.

Finally some good news! Game 86 was meant to be a recovery match for the short staffed Potters and coach Dapperdan was more than happy to play a fresh Wood Elf Team. The game turned sour very quickly with rookie Edward Threadbottom stealing possession and scoring a TD via a nice throw from Slumberwood! The blood started to flow from here on in with both the skipper and Slumberwood killing a Wood Elf each in subsequent blocks. Another lineman was killed whilst trying to avoid Willow's swinging branches and the veteran De Vries scrambled over the line to give the Potter's a 2-0 lead at halftime. The second half started to take it's toll on the flings with the badly hurt box nearly full! The fouling started in earnest from both sides resulting in a send off and a brutal kill for Piter! The woodies scored a last turn TD to revive some dignity but this was a punishing game for their squad.

More good news from the Potter's camp this week. Their 98th game against the Plaguewood Wardens not only gave them the first win against rotters but also the highest SPP spread in what has been a winning spree! A 3-1 victory allowed some of the rookies to develop whilst veterans Piter and Willow added extra casualties to their tallies! Coach Dapperdan is now focusing on their 100th match - "Everyone in the squad is looking forward to it, we have no idea who we are playing yet but this is going to be a very special game for us, I think the fans are almost as excited as we are!"

The Potters 100th match was a close contest with Wood Elves "FeeltheSpeed". Although the Potters lost, 97000 fans turned up for the home match and the halfings managed to inflict some damage on the opposition. Slumberwood and veteran Johnny Luger broke a couple of jaws, Willow forced the woodies medic to rush on the pitch and crumpled another lineman. Coach Dapperdan was philosophical after the match. "Of course we wanted to win this one, it was quite a risk to use Pegs (team apoc) before the match so Willow could play but this was such a big game for us - if he didn't compete I'm sure the fans would have invaded the field!".

Game 105 against Necro team "Dead Good Players" was an old fashioned bloodbath. A rookie fling died in the very first block and Piter retaliated by fouling and killing a skilled up wolfie. Blood flowed freely with the Potters losing 2 more players (including the mysterious huang lo). Up & coming player Alexander Cloves received a nasty niggling injury and skipper Willow had to be tended by McGee again after a group stomping. A wight took a niggle after a tussle with a pair of rookie flings and the Dead Good Players stormed home to win 2-0. The coach was still optimistic though "Another tough game for us, we are still making money though so that means more players, more training and hopefully some new fans down the track!"

131 games down the track and there is an eerie silence in the Potter's camp. Their home stadium is derelict, only a handful of diehard fans turn up to their games and the coach is having funding problems. Several members of the squad have been seriously injured and coach Dapperdan can't afford to replace them.
The Potters managed to break their 9 game losing streak with back to back draws but in order to continue they will need more fans and funding. Coach Dapperdan is looking even further afield for opponents now of any race, playing style and ranking. There is some good news though, skipper Weeping Willow is still playing and has slowly climbed the rankings now for the number of blocks, casualties, MVPs and all round Star Player.

Game 138 against a veteran Lizard team marked the end of an era for the Potters. A brutal tackle on the sidelines against Piter left him for dead and there was nothing the team apoc could do. Seconds later 2 more players were also recklessly slain in vicious blitzes. The Potters went on to lose 0-3, could this be the end...............

After 146 glorious matches, team captain and legend Weeping Willow was laid to rest after the match with humies "Samuel L Jackson". The game was close and plenty of blood/sap flowed over the pitch. Slumberwood is now the official team captain and the Potters are currently on the look out for a new treeman. RIP Willow...........

Game 182 and the Potters are still playing! Slumberwood is close to 100 games now and survived a fouling bonanza against ruthless Amazonians! Jason Stackhouse and Potter's Legend Buds Miller were not so lucky and both were killed in this match. More new recruits have been added and Mack Luger looks like he has taken Stackhouse's place as the bruiser in the squad!

Game 206 and the Potters have started to make a comeback. Coach Dapperdan has had some success with his other teams lately and is now diverting his attention towards the Potters again. They have managed to string together a few wins and add some extra players to the roster and also hoard some cash!! The regulars are still in the squad but there is a new star in the making with catcher Jamie Dodger. He has already scored 5 touchdowns in 12 games and is progressing well. Veteran Bugsy Sloane killed a Snow Troll in a block in the Potters last game against the Snowpiercers so I'm sure he will be going on about that for some time! Watch this space, as the Potters are back!

Game 234 and Mack Luger has replaced Legendary Treeman Slumberwood as captain who has sadly been retired due to recurring injuries. Plenty of practice sessions have boosted the teams confidence and they now have a new star player in Bogey Trotter and a 1TD machine in Noah Baeron. They have also had some decent wins and draws with their new team too. A few players have been retired along the way but they are back with a vengeance. Watch this space!!
