A popular tradition among Otter players is to abandon their given name once recruited by the team and take on, temporarily, the name of a member of the Norse pantheon. They believe that by assuming the mantle of a god, they assume some of the traits of said god, becoming empowered on the blood bowl pitch. This hasn't proven a good strategy, as most Sea Otter players die horribly in their first few games, but still the tradition continues.

The Otters don't win much, but they seem to be very popular with blood bowl fans. This is probably because whereever the Otters play, a lot of blood is spilled, and Norse fans don't seem to mind that it's their team getting mauled.


The Sea Otters recently played their 16th game, becoming my most played team.
