"It's like blood, but made for humans"

Many a gallant knight in the realms of Bretonnia has come across a maiden so stunning, so charismatic, that they march them up the isle as fast as they can. Come the wedding night, things don't always go as planned. Some have betrothed Lady Lenore, been drained of blood, and turned into monsters who crave to feast in turn on the living. Spirited away at night to the Crimson Keep in a faraway land they are bound in servitude to her, ordered to bring home Blood Bowl silverware. So it is that each day the stricken knights train tirelessly under the watchful eye of her grave guardians.

If you felt pity for these once valiant young knights, spare a thought for their servants. Downtrodden and familiar with abuse, their new lot in life is to be downtrodden, abused, abducted and forced to cohabit with the dead, repeatedly bitten, AND made to take to the Blood Bowl pitch.

But enough of the sop story. How does a ragtag group of undead, monsters, and their lunch play BB?! Let's find out.

As part of the CIBBL licensing, each team must provide their players with self development courses. The BoCK run an 'empower your willpower' program. Any thrall that moans too much is killed and zombified. While this doesn't help the individual (after the process all they can do is moan), it provides a great moral boost to the remaining thralls.
After many a boring century guarding Lady Lenore - no one in their right mind would try anything - Khalida requested a transfer to the BB team. Despite centuries of violence, she finds slaughtering mere mortals never gets old.
Don't mistake this cape wearing vampire for a fool. And definitely don't make fun of his ears. This touchy, eccentric beast has been known to bite off limbs on the pitch! He’s definitely hiding something because he never takes off his armour, but who’s to say what? Lady Lenore knows, but she's not telling.
Sir Corduin was often to be found at the rear of a knightly charge. This was no sign of cowardice however, simply that his monstrous size burdened his steeds to little more than a plod. Rumour has it that his mother was a steam tank.
Sir Reynard has dealt well with his transition into a monster of the night. He had found all the decorum required of a Knight of the Realm rather suffocating. His inhibitions now freed, an observer would be forgiven for thinking that Reynard's perversions are simply making up for lost time.
When Lady Lenore bedded Duke Folcard, they were both in for a shock. The courageous knight with a ferocious temper turned out to be a she. Now able to be her true self - a malevolent harpy who terrorises peasants - Iselda makes the perfect killer on the pitch.
Not to be confused with Ivan the Terrible, Terrible Ivan was awful during practice, so Lady Lenor had no choice but to put him down. Becoming a zombie hasn't made him more agile, but at least he's more likely to get up after tripping on his shoelaces.

Did you know...
The amount of blood a vampire must consume has nothing to do with their physical size. No one seems to have told Sir Corduin however. In one of their earliest away games, by the time the coaches pulled up at the station there weren't enough thralls conscious to field 11 players. Now denied access to the players before the match, he's the reason behind the cheerleaders' typically lackluster performances.

Terrible Ivan once nearly scored. In a game against the Nuln Gunners he scooped up the ball and shambled it into the endzone. Alas it transpired that he'd been carrying his own head. It had fallen off when he bent down and he'd picked it up instead.

The team's mascot - Maggot Mike - used to play for the team. Baron Michel was one of the original vampires. One match he drained a pitch side maiden of blood whilst celebrating a touchdown. Her horrified mother turned out to be an archmage and transmogrified him into his current form.

All betting on Terrible Ivan has been banned at CIBBL sanctioned matches. It used to be customary for fans to wager on the number of times he would hit the floor during a match. One fateful fixture he not only tripped over before the starting bongo banged, but upon a receiving a block from a particularily docile gnoblar he split right up the middle into two. During the ensuing riots several bookies were sawn in half as angry punters presented their side of the argument.
