Dead Mans Walkers

Shuffling onto the pitch like someone 'leaving' death row, the walkers play all too keenly aware of their Elfy blood-bowler fate.

This is yet another attempt at getting a non dwarf team to survive their first few games with a shot at fielding a full side. Like my chances ?

Game 1: Managed to beat some pro elves in very tight game because of a flurry of KOs inflicted late in the second half. AV8 rocks ! Also managed zero casualty first game which is a complete novelty. More typically though the winnings from the match fell short of the apothecary mark: which is a serious problem.

Game 2: A close run win over a rare all-fling outfit with some serious cooking power. Nearly losing to flings might be hard to take for some but the flings cooked up a storm of a game...and the fans loved it. Some more winnings here without casualties makes this a rare start to an elf team: I have 11 healthy guys and an apothecary. Game 3 is clearly gonna hurt.

Game 3: Lined up against some Chaos Dwarves. Fearing a mauling the Walkers managed to defend their first and score against the kick and then score quickly after the break. The body count meant the Chaos Squats in the heavy rain would be left to be their own worst enemy in their remaining offence - but they scored in style and with an increased body count. Luckily it was all BH's so the Walkers will walk again.

Game 4: Wonders will never cease. After the first two turn score by the Walkers they stayed on defense against a tough orc team for the rest of the match. They turned their offence about for a second TD and, most amazingly, nobody ended up in the hospital.

Game 5: Well it had to happen sometime. Thrower Notha Face fumbled two TD passes and was tripped deep in his own territory to hand our sylvan guests a hat-trick of touchdowns, either of the TD passes would have given a good chance of the win. The Woodies terrorised with the wardancers and played a fine game.

Game 6: A very tight game of elfball - high elves mano a mano this time. A bit of kickoff table luck gave us the edge over what I thought was a better side on paper: the Walkers defense came up perfect twice and converted a game-winning scoring opportunity.
