| Jorvik Berzerkers are one of those great drunken ideas: "Hhhey ladssh! I bet you dhon't dhare tho play bhloodbowwl..." Well after that the team had to be put up. First players consisted of some second cousins of someone, who didn't inherit any lands or titles and had nothing better to do, than get drunk and tell everyone how important family they came from. Somewhere between the second and 12th pint someone came up with the name Jorvik Berzerkers. Like there really were any berzerkes in the team. Only rage they get is when Berzerkers realize they're all out of beer again. When you put dozen drunks together to do anything, but drinking and getting into drunken fights, you really can't expect much. After listening countless weeks berzerkers's empty bracking and watching them falling on top of each other, the barkeeper of Mad Cow, ( the filthiest hole you can find in whole Jorvik!) Einar the Greed realized a nice way to earn that little extra. He pointed himself the coach of Jorvik Berzerkers. After the game you only have to give them some beer and meat jerky and they are quite happy. Or at least they do pass out, which counts as the same. The rest you can get out of the matches is your's to keep. You can't really speak of playing skills with Jorvik Berzerkers, but Ottar put that morning after madness in good use. Give team so much beer they can drink in the night before the match. Then give them some more. When they wake up they are just in the right mood for Bloodbowl! Just say that each time that pig bladder touches other teams endzone they get one more geg of beer. Then you really can see them playing! There never were much fans for the team. Watching drunken norsca getting in fight with, not only with the other team, but amongst themselves, isn't really the most entertaining sight. Well, some seem to like it. Those few who do understand the entertaining value of hairy drunken men with filthy beards staggering around a grass field, do come to every match since the first! Problem with players being constantly drunk is that they don't seem to be able to win any matches, except by accident, or after they have managed by some miracle to beat the other team out of field. That means they got lots of casualties. In the beginning there were some standards who can be recruited to the team. Standards mostly meaning that they were drinking buddies of some team member. After some time team was running out of drinking buddies, so now they take who ever they find at the drinking hole they happen to be in. |
