Deep in the bowels of Drakwald forest, the palid light of a half moon shines down upon a horde of Beastmen and thier dark ritual. With the beating of massive drums, these goat-like beings slowly start to swirl around a great bonfire encircled by eleven skulls. As the maddening drums whip the participants into a fever of exaltation, they begin to whirl and jump over the furious flames. Their cloven hooves churn the dirt, pounding the ground in time with the increasing clamour of their ghastly dums. As the caucophony reaches the height of its feverish pace, the blood of innocents is spilled for the favor of their dark god. Death cries mix with the chourus of bleeting goat-like voices. The very aura of power emminating from this remote glade is almost palpable. As the last sacrifice falls from life, a great boom is heard. The sound is like the breaking of a great seal, and the flames grow to lick the leaves of the great forest's canopy. The cabal of eleven beastmen, for that is their sacred number, all kneel in a cricle around the fire. From it's flames a monsterous laughter errupts. It's cold and hollow report is contrasted only by the intense heat and light of the bonfire from which it comes. This sound would pale the face of the mightiest of heroes, for it is the evil laughter of one from accross the void. From the dark receses of the Eye of Terror, the summoned spirit of "The Lost God" revels in his adoration. The faint outline of his visage is barely discernalbe amist the dancing flames. His great three-eyed head, almost wolf-like, bellows a roar of triumph through endless rows of viscious teeth. It is he, the destroyer of gods, the great chaos god Malal! The Marauders of Malal have claimed another victory on the Blood Bowl field. With every gathered soul, rent from the opposing team, they seek only to feed the hunger of their lord, Malal. As their fame grows, so does his influence upon the face fo the world. As the travel the length and width of the Old World, they raise high the standard of their dark lord. Upon it's face a grining skull, biscected down the middle. One half light, the other dark, with their dark master's sacred 11 blazoned on it's forehead. The coming of Malal's banner brings forth woe and misery, and much blood is left in its wake. |
