While fluffy_bunny was scraping around in the gutter outside one of the seedier drinking dens in Marienburg harbor—having once again gotten himself beaten up due to allegedly cheating at dice—he came across a crumbled flyer that advertised a local Blood Bowl tournament. The price money, a princely sum of 100 Guilder, caught his eye, and he immediately decided to win this treasure, despite having never touched a ball in his life.

With promises of easy riches he managed to impress a number of the more gullible of the local hoodlums into joining his little venture and thus formed the Marienburg Marauders. They entered the tournament and having nothing but the foggiest of clues of how to actually play the game naturally got their collective butts kicked.

Fortunately for the continued health of coach fluffy_bunny, the teams performance in their match against the snobbish Furious Freetraders from the upper quarters of Marienburg, where they inflicted multiple deaths and depilating injuries, impressed the locals so much that they decided to sponsor the teams drinking spree of the night. Realizing that a career in Blood Bowl would not make them rich, but might at least provide a steady source of alcohol, the team decided to spare coach fluffy_bunny and continue playing. Since then, the team has build up a steadily increasing fanbase among the workmen and sailors of Marienburg harbor that care more for the brutality rather than the beauty of the game.

The Marauders stadium is a small plot of unclaimed land situated on one of the numerous tiny islands that make up Marienburg harbor.

The pitch is a lumpy field of grass tended by a handful of sheep belonging to Mrs. Mudbucket, the head of the Guild of Seamstresses and a fervent fan of the Marauders. Rumors that the team will strategically seed the pitch with sharp rocks and broken bottles prior to a match are completely without merit.

The wooden stands, slapped together from rotten driftwood by the team during one of their soberer moments, are so ramshackle that only the most drunk or foolhardy of spectators dare make use of them. Instead, most of the crowd will hang around the sidelines of the pitch, which has the added benefit of making it much easier to grab opposing players that stray too close.

The greatest attraction of the Marienburg Marauders stadium is the concession stand of Clean-as-a-Whistle Clements, which serves undoubtably the most delicious Rat-on-a-Stick™ money can buy in all of the Old World.
