Space Battleship Yamato In the year 2199, Earth was under severe attack from the mysterious planet Gamilon. Gamilon planet bombs covered the Earth with radioactive pollution. And as a result, in one year's time, Earth will be unliveable. But on the planet Iscandar, there is a machine that can remove the radioactivity. Queen Starsha offers it to the people of Earth if they can win the SWL tournament. An intrepid team called the Ratstar Blazers undertakes the perilous journey.

But can the Blazers travel 148,000 light years and back in just one Earth year?

YAMATO

Yamato is a space battleship serving in the Earth Defense Force. As the first Earth ship to utilize wave motion energy, Yamato will go on to save the planet and the human race from multiple interstellar and intergalactic threats.

Yamato was destroyed in 2203 in an attempt to prevent the water planet Aquarius from flooding Earth's surface, but after lying dormant in the icy remains of Aquarius, Yamato was repaired and upgraded for future missions.


NAVAL DOME

The rabid fans of The Midshipmen gather in this glorious stadium to cheer on their heroes as they take on all comers, be they Garmillian, Zaltz, Jirei, Chaos or whatever else is out there in the Universe. The Ratstar Blazers will take on anything in their mission to defend the Earth.

As for the Blazers? Their mission is to win the SWL is only part of a greater task. A task that is no less than to save Earth from the radiation that ravages the surface and endangers the citizens cowering underground.

Yasuo Nanbu		Sub-chief of ship's defenses, operating the gun turrets in Kodai's absence. He is the heir to Nanbu Heavy Industries Corporation, which created Yamato's main artillery and the Cosmogun.
