The temple of Rasetra blended the harsh realities between two worlds, the savagery of the Lizardmen and the dark magics of the Khemri. Only the most fearsome creatures could survive such a place, and none thrived more than the mighty crocodile. Using a blend of deception and power the crocodile was revered by all who inhabited the temple, eventually worshiped as the Lurking God. Now that Rasetra has fallen to ruin only the most faithful servants of such a cruel god remain, their duty everlasting in finding offerings to sate the God's neverending bloodlust.
Long ago in a time lost to history Rasetra was a thriving, if merciless, city. Lizardmen and Khemri shared the secrets of their cultures to create warriors unlike the world had ever seen. Strong and ferocious, with armor of impenetrable scales and dark magic to command the dead and strike fear into their foes their army was spoken of only in hushed tones across the Southlands. They worshiped a pagan god that reflected their brutality and few who stood against the city lived to tell of it.
But it was not meant to last, merchants started avoiding the city out of fear and internal struggle began. Race wars between the two cultures came to a head with countless losses suffered on each side. Soon a river of blood ran down the temple and what few living souls remained fled to safer grounds.
The river of blood is said to have awakened the Lurking God, furious that there was no longer any living things to sate his lust. He summoned back the mightiest of Rasetra's warriors, though they no longer had souls their savagery remained. To appease his appetite the Lurking God turned to the event that had brought him the most sacrifices during the cities golden age: Blood Bowl. Now he sends his warriors to the pitch with one purpose: collect an offering of blood from each opponent they come across.
