After the trade (and subsequent untimely death) of 161 game DLE legend, Barry Gryson, and acquisition and then release of 179 game DLE icon, Johnathan Hankins, the Unicorns sought a new ogre to hold the line for the team. Rookie Cherilus, whose off-field antics have earned him the somewhat derogatory nickname, fit the bill and was quickly brought in to offer serious muscle during the off-season rebuild.

'The Butcher' is the kind of player to strike fear in opposing players, regardless of their size or skill. His relentless violence and single-minded ambition to inflict maximum pain on his opponents makes him a frightening proposition. His family run an abattoir in Aquitaine and, had the beautiful game not come calling, Leboucher would be making a killing in this lucrative trade. Now, his hands are put to good use in rendering opposing players into mincemeat.

Brooks is a young rookie picked up by the Draft Press Gang from the docks of Broekwater. Brooks was initially reluctant to put his life on the line in a career in sport but, having squelched a few halflings in the Crush Combine, he realised he had a real talent for Blood Bowl. From throwing crates into ships, he's now throwing fists into faces.

A relatively later pick in the draft, after the Unicorns valuable early trade was used to acquire three Manticore players. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, or 'Air' Helaire as he is called because of his grace and agility, is expected to be primarily deployed as a ball carrier following the trade of Bruno Giza. His exceptional footwork comes from a misspent youth in the dancehalls of Übersreik's upper class mansions.

Stjönkdier was an exciting prospect in his college days but took a step back from the sport to care for his ailing parents. Now that they have succumbed to the Reikland Itch, he is free to play his beloved sport once more. Snapped up in the Compensation Draft by the Unicorns, the hope is that Stjönkdier will put a few more opponents in the grave, not just the relatives he has infected thanks to his youthful indiscretions.

Traded for an improved Draft XVII 2nd round pick, a future 4th, and lineman Nate Davis, Jordan Love may well be a bargain for the Unicorns. With his incredible passing range and accuracy, he poses a completion threat from all across the field.

Traded for Draft XIII 3rd & 4th Picks with Ola Adeniyi from the Skar Bay Sharks. Originally a Punt Receiver, Woodside found his throwing arm was his secret weapon. Likes to get involved in the action with close-range, snap passes. Endowed with the skills necessary to pick out any of the Unicorns scoring threats. From Season XVI, 'Woody' has been awarded the club captaincy.

Rounding out the Unicorns lineman cohort for Season XVII, Kareem offers a different selection of skills which should ensure he plays a vital role as Free Safety in the mid- or back field, where he can grapple with the ball carriers or break a weak cage.

Traded for Draft XVIII 2nd round pick and XVII 3rd round pick for the Dragons and was traded in the close season, before Season XVII to the Foxes - however, the Unicorns swooped in and rescued him from the depths of Marienburg before he could pull on their sickening orange jersey. Gaines was woefully underused by the Dragons and will aim to make an impact at The Tin Spur.

The overall #1 pick in the Season XVII draft, Tristan Wirfs is a formidable unit whose sole aim is to make the opposing offence wish they had stayed in bed. With the ability to knock down opponents and protect teammates, he really is a keystone in the centre field.

The strength of the Unicorns scouting network has paid dividends with this exciting offensive lineman from Sartosa, Tilea. Brigante comes with strength and drive and offers the offense crucial support at disrupting the opposing defence. After scoring on his debut, he went on to score twice more and add to his tally of casualties, MVPs, and fouls. After just one season, the Ültras voted him on to the All-Time Roster.

Hambright was a 3rd round draft pick from Mootland Tech., where he had originally studied to be a halfling master oven maker. However, his unusual height made it difficult to work in the traditional industries of his countryfolk and he made the brave decision to leave the Moot and seek alternative employment. A brief spell at grassroots level Blood Bowl meant that 'Hambo' could really show his neat footwork and, soon after, a DLE league scout gave him the golden ticket to the big show!

UPDATE: Hambright managed to take the scalp of pesky Universe fouler, Ashad Fenton. Kudos!

A trade which went a little unnoticed as the Scimitars made the deal several weeks before their run to Superbowl XIV. J.J. was kept underwraps until the final, where his side narrowly lost to the Irrana Avalanche but, having got through unscathed, Arcega-Whiteside was soon revealed to the stunned Ültras, who hardly expected to be able to greet a 2nd round pick like J.J. to The Tin Spur. Perhaps under-utilised by the Scimitars, who relied on Blitzers to score their touchdowns, the fiery, confident Running Back will hope to notch more TDs in Season XV.

UPDATE: After an impressive start to his career at the Unicorns, J.J. has been moved from Offence to Defence, with the DC impressed by his abilities at sacking the ball carrier.

Traded for agile lineman Marvell Tell, Julian Love is reunited with his older brother, Jordan. The two stars hope to make it a 'Love Connection' at the Unicorns and develop the team's scoring threat. Julian's record of 4 touchdowns in 10 games for the Universe suggests he can be used as an agile option for a long-range pass.

A middle of the round pick for the Unicorns, acquired through some savvy trading in the previous season. Henderson gives the Unicorns added mobility and agility in the Receiver team. CJ's sharp reactions will help the team press in offence and patrol the back field in defence.
