Ajaz Ahmed (born 1976)is a Pakistani farmer, with an unverified claim to being the world's tallest living person. He hails from Bakkhar village in Daryakhan, Punjab, and claims to be 2.54 m (8.3 ft). Ahmed is a victim of hormonal dysfunction. Ajaz Ahmed is still growing. He suffers from an orthopaedic problem that afflicted his right leg after he underwent surgery for a hip-bone fracture. Being a farmer from a rural family, he came to the notice of a Pakistani social worker, Talat Mehmood, who helped him get in touch with Qamruddin Ansari, the manager for Ghulam Shabbir, the holder of the Guinness Record for the biggest shoe size (U.S. size 452), and the late Alam Channa, the world's tallest man at the time.

His femurs were the longest on record - 76 centimeters (29.9 inches) - and his hands were 37½ centimeters (14¾ inches) in length.

Koch died in Mons, Belgium on March 30, 1902. His skeleton is preserved in the Museum of Natural History in Mons.

Leonid Stepanovich Stadnyk(born 1971 in Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR) is a Ukrainian man renowned for his stature. He was formerly listed as the world's tallest living man according to Guinness World Records. On August 20, 2008, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday, announced that the title of world's tallest man had been returned to China's Bao Xishun after Stadnyk refused to be measured under the Guinness standard guidelines which require several measurements throughout the course of 24 hours under the watchful eye of a Guinness Book representative. Guinness would then average the height readings to come up with a final official measured height.

Väinö Myllyrinne, born in 1909 in Helsinki, and died in 1963 in Järvenpää, Finland, was first the tallest man in Europe and then from 1940 onwards the second tallest man in the world (half an inch behind Don Koehler). Myllyrinne is considered the tallest soldier ever, having served in the Finnish Defence Forces. He reached a height of 248 cm (8' 1.5"), and grew to this size due to suffering from acromegalic gigantism. Myllyrinne was voted 12th greatest Finn in the tv-show Suuret suomalaiset (spin-off of the BBC show Great Britons), largely due to a tongue-in-cheek Internet campaign criticising the idea of the show. The advocates of the campaign thought that because you can't pick just one person to be the Greatest Finn for their accomplisments, Väinö Myllyrinne would actually be the "greatest Finn", because of his height.
