The eclectic gutter is a noble instrument. It was first used by "The King", a poor boy who went to the army, made music and became the ruler of his realm because he was so good. He used the eclectic gutter not only for making music, but also as a weapon in war (to gut his enemies, of course). When used as a amusical instrument it sounds like a hundred angry cats (if you are not so good) or like a hundred angry cats sining in unison....
If someone comes to rule after being soldier and minstrel it is called "doing an Elvis", in honor to The King.

The base gutter is nealy the same as the eclectic gutter, but also available for common musicians, not only nobility. It looks rather similar with a long neck and round body. The metal wires running along the neck are more massive than with the eclectic gutter, so you can remove the innards of bigger and stronger people (e.g. ogres) with them.

This is a really cruel weapon, as it is used for pycholical warfare instead of dealing out normal wounds. This is a sack full of pipes, that make a VERY disturbing sound when air is blown into the sack. The sound is so incredible that all except the strongest of mind beg the warrior to stop. Werewolves have even benn known to commit suicide when catching sight of begpipes, as their hearing makes them much more vulnerable.

A treeangle is a warped peace of wood. To be exact it is not used as a weapon any more, but as an instrument of torture. When used the victim is warped around the wood several times. As the wood takes different forms, it is hard to describe the usual effect. When used as a club a treeangle the resulting "thock" is always of the same pitch, no matter what you strike.

This one is rather tricky. A clavier is a very heavy object made of a steel or wood frame and filled with metal cable. It can be either used as a siege weapon to tear down walls and battlements due to its weight or as a weapon of mass desruction cutting soldiers in slices with the metal wires. When hitting an obstacle the clavier brings forth a series of melodious sounds. You can produce the sounds by hitting the clavier in different places with a hard object, but you can easily wound yourself or others around you with it.
A well-tempered clavier is a more balanced variation of heavier weight. You have to concentrate very hard to use it correctly, be of even mind (well-tempered). The masters using this siege weapon were often calles "Maestro". When several Maestros used their weapons at the same time, it was called "in concerto".

Brass horns were a rather seldom mutation of chaos beastmen. Their horn were hollow and made of brass. Unfortunately brass is not one of the hardest metals around and the horns were hollow. That did not inporve the damage they did (quite lessened it even), but the horns produced some kind of music when charging. There was a whole unit of beastmen in service of Slaneesh, all of them sporting brass horns. They were called the Benny Goodman Big Band, due to their general.

This is a failed eapons experiment. A crazy weaponsmith got the idea (on his wife´s washingday...) to use a combination of sticks and cushions in combat. First you throw the cushion over the enemy, then you beat him with a pair of sticks. Unnecessary to mention that the cushions cushioned the force of the blows...
But some warriors were able to beat the enemies in fascinating rythms, unfortunately it was too hard to survive to such a degree of skill for most people...

This is a weapon that has been used by long gone barbarians. They were called Hauls (some old texts write them Gauls, as their alphabet did not contain an "H").
The sackbutt developed its full power over the course of a battle. It was a musical horn of a kind attached with a sack to one end. When fighting the Hauls would start with a sword as most armies do. But every time they severed a limb (or part of) they would stop to put it in the sack. When reaching a sufficient weight they would put away their swords and "butt" ( it´s called butt also due to the sound generated by a sack full of human parts hitting a living being) the enemy. The most fierce Hauls put even body parts of themselves into the sack, but this habit died rather fast...

A violinve is similar to a gutter, although smaller, and comes with a fitting stick. So you have the option to torture the enemy by scratching the stick over the metal wires on the violince, by gutting him like with the classical gutter, or by using the stick to beat him over the head or poke him in the eye. A Violinve is also often called fiddle, as many users fiddle about with both hands, unable to decide which option to use...

A trouble bass is another extreme invention for testing weapon limits. With the success of the gutters (and to a smaller degree the violince) a larger version was developed, the trouble bass. But it was so big that it caused way too much trouble (hence the name). The official name was double bass, as two men were intended to use it.

This is a weapon used by a barbaric race of unkempt half-giants living in and near mountains. It was hard to get informations about this weapon, as they speak a language nobody can understand, even magic means of communication failed. So all our results are due to testing while we made the barbarians drunk. They look rather ridiculous in their short trousers made oh leather and their hat with a brush attched to it, but that´s not important for the use of the weapon.
It is a long and hollowd out stick, way to large to carry it comfortably and impossible to swing or use to stab. So we can only guess that the barvarians (they call themselves "Barvarians", they can´t even pronounce Barbarian correctly) breathe into one end and due to their foul breath kill everybody on the other end. Or they use them to cause vibrations in the rocks (an instrument of this size might produce a sound so low that rocks start to vibrate). In the resulting landslides any attacking army would be destroyed...

But as I already said, this is just speculation.

The steel gutter is a local variant of the eclectic gutter. It is used by people in the country wearing strange hats and boots. Sometimes it´s also used in the west. So you find it western or country, often both...
