Robert Julian Barbieri (born Toronto, Canada, 5 June 1984) is a Canadian-born Italian rugby union player. He plays as a flanker. He decided to represent Italy.

He has played for Yeomen (2000-2003), in Canada, before moving to Overmach Rugby Parma (2003-2007), in Italy. Barbieri currently plays for Benetton Treviso.

His first game for Italy was the 52-6 win over Japan, at 9 June 2006. Interestingly the same day his brother, Michael Barbieri, earned his first cap for Canada in Toronto against England. He was a member of the Italian squad that was present at the 2007 Rugby World Cup finals, but was never used. He counts currently 6 caps for his country.

Parisse was handed a baptism of fire when he made his Italy debut in a 64-10 hammering at the hands of New Zealand in 2002, but the highly-rated No.8 has quickly established himself as one of Italy’s key players. The Argentina-born player joined the Bergamasco brothers at Stade Francais in 2005, after three years at Benetton Treviso. Played in all Italy’s 2007 World Cup games. Now he's the Italy captain.

Ivan Francescato (10 February 1967 - 19 January 1999) was an Italian rugby union player.

Francescato began his career in his native city, Treviso, like his five elder siblings before him, all of whom played the game at high levels, three (excluding him) made the Italian National team, Bruno, Nello and Rino. He got his technical and athletic training in the youth development teams at A. S. Tarvisium Ruggers 69.

He made his debut in the Italian Championship on 14 September 1986, as a centre, facing A. S. R. Milano in Milan. He remained faithful to Benetton Treviso throughout his life. Francescato played also as scrum half.

Francescato made his International debut on 7 October 1990 against Romania. His last appearance for the Azzuri was on 8 November1997 against South Africa. Perhaps his most famous moment in an Italian shirt was scoring one of the tries of the tournament in the 1991 World Cup in the game against the USA. In a superb display of individual skill, Francescato stepped and feinted past several American defenders before touching down between the posts.

Ivan Francescato died suddenly of a heart attack at 3 a.m. at his home in Treviso. The Trevigiana rugby board decided to retire the number 13 shirt for the season.
