Donovan Swann steps into the Cardinals lineup hoping to fill the sizeable shoes of Johnny Stark who had already established himself as a fan favorite in only a few games before suffering a career ending injury. Swann is a complete contrast to his predecessor, a quiet introverted fellow, utterly lacking Stark's swagger and strutting demeanor. If Swann is to make his mark with the Cards, it won't be through flashy endzone dances or pithy locker room quotes. In his own words; "I just want to score Touchdowns... Lots of them."

Update: After four games in which he has been almost invisible and during which the Cardinals have gone 0-4 his introverted act is beginning to wear a little thin in Varnheim

Update: Faced with the threat of being benched Swann, finally redeemed himself in the eyes of Cardinals fans with a dominant 2 TD performance against the Amazon club 'Sexy Gurls' Since then he has been a dominant contributor to the team and finally lived hup to his potential

Emerging Star
Local recruit Rocky Bledsoe made quite a splash in his debut appearance against the Skyre City Skooters. In a game that was dramatcally short due to sewage leaking onto the Skaven club's home field, Bledsoe still managed to roll up a touchdown and a casualty enroute to a 2-1 victory over the Skaven.

Since then he has gone from strength to strength establishing himself as the leading scorer in Cardinals History and tying the club record for single game MVP awards

Rocky Bledsoe is the brightest star in the Cardinals firmament and in only 10 games has established himself as arguably the finest blitzer the Cardinals have ever had.

The only member of the Cardinals stable of blitzers not to have scored a Touchdown and also the only one not to have caused a casualty, Logan needs to step up his game to prove he deserves his lucrative blitzer salary. Often seen in the taverns of Varnheim, Logan's love of wine women and song have caused some to question his commitment to carnage and Touchdowns. The consensus among Cardinals fans is that the young man will have to reevaluate his priorities if he wants success on the bloodbowl field.

Update
After a slow start to his career Howard has put his early disappointments behind him and become one of the most valuable weapons on this team and a Cardinal fan favorite.

Probably the greatest natural athlete on the Cardinals roster, Drake Aubrey's game is an effortless blend of grace and sadism. Whether gliding deftly past enemy blocker or smashing a surreptitious boot into a prone enemy's face, Aubrey shows great skill and potential.
He wears the left fang of the Vampire Krench who he fouled in the first game of his career on a leather thong around his neck
Aubreys violent ways have entertained the crowd and have led to a club-leading 2 MVP awards for the lineman

Richie Garcia is known chiefly for his spectacular touchdown pass to the now deceased Andre Irvin in the Cardinals debut game which, he made despite two vampire thralls hanging on his neck.

Since then he has done little to distinguish himself on the field and the Cardinals coaches and fans grow weary of waiting for the Burly lineman out of Ostrovenia to start living up to potential.

Given His mediocre performance to date, Brock Gibson's continued presence in the Cardinals lineup is inexplicable. 17 games into his blood bowl career he has yet to master the fundamentals of blocking. Cardinal fans are rapidly losing patience with Gibson. Rumors say that his place on the roster is due in large part due to nepotism as he is the nephew of Cardinals coach 'Ironhead' Paolus.

Update (8 September 09)
In recent games Brock has finally begun to earn his place on the roster. While his blocking still leaves much to be desired he has become a valuable team player often assisting his more harder hitting more athletic team mates. Interestingly Gibson is also the only Cardinal to have played in every game since the Franchise's inception.

This golden armed prospect has stepped into the Quarterbacking shoes of the much maligned Zak Vanderghast whose injury and mediocre play in the first 4 games made the Cardinals realise that a change was needed at the Thrower position.

Cunningham is handsome bright and humble, yet is blessed with an on-field vicious streak that means he is as happy when he is delivering a crushing block to his opponents groin as when throwing a pretty pass. All in all Cunningham seems a Blood Bowl endorsers dream. His predecessor also arrived with high expectations however, and only time will tell if he will live up to his promise.

The first Ogre in Cardinal history, Thrak Throttlespike has been brought in to address the high Casualty rate the Cardinals have been struggling with since their inception and to give the team a more physical edge. His arrival has Cardinal fans very excited and the hope is that Thrak will be successful in shoring up a line of scrimmage that has resembled a turnstile at times
