Fritz was my original character, and has outlasted all others to become my single most powerful adventurer. From his days singing his teacher's beard with his first feeble cantrips, to slaying entire armies with powerful rains of fire, Fritz has never backed down from the challenges or rewards of his mystical studies. Not even when said studies cost him his health and family. But a true archmage has ways around even these hindrances. Now his fellow adventurers are his family; he has trinkets of life extension to circumvent normal aging. Retired and instructing other promising students in the art of Invocation, Fritz nevertheless from time to time has been known to direct battles from behind the lines, flinging his magical fires over his companions' heads and into the heart of whatever foe he's facing...

A close second in terms of experience to Fritz, Strider has won (and lost) the hearts of many along his path in life. He started life as a Ranger, and oh how his dual short-swords sparkled as he whirled them around and around! But a chance encounter with an evil artifact allowed an evil outsider to invade Strider's body, taking control and forcing him to commit many heinous acts. Eventually his friend Fritz devised a way to save him, but the evil energies flooding through his body had cost Strider his health. Dying, accursed by many from the brutal acts wrongly committed in his name, Strider gave in to despair. But in the world of fantasy, nothing is impossible, not even magically creating a new body for the spirit of Strider to inhabit! His health saved, he nevertheless felt great guilt for the crimes his past body had committed, and he has retired from the adventuring life. Thankfully, we've been able to convince him to come out of hiding and play some BloodBall with his old friends!

Dawn grew up in silence, never hearing the world around her. The other children of the town taunted her; to escape, she spent most of her time in the woods, learning how to stalk game despite being unable to hear her own movements. One benefit she discovered was her absolute concentration on whatever endeavor she was facing, without the usual distractions others face. She decided to turn her attention to archery, and in the thick of battle now there's no better person you'd like on your side, firing her bow rapidly and accurately, ignoring the raging, screaming enemies trying to reach her. Until, that is, it's their turn to take an arrow in the eye.

Choose one word to describe Dalvo the Battlerager, and the best word for the job would be: obsessed. Obsessed with eating and drinking, where he'll put away more than any three of his friends combined. Obsessed with fighting, where he'll take on anyone and everyone, never backing down no matter the odds. Obsessed with life, singing loudly all the while. Stealth is not an option when Dalvo is part of your party; then again, with Dalvo there's usually no need to sneak around the back entrance. Just use the front door--he'll carve a path through with his axe and his song (and his stench--bathing is not an option with Dalvo either)!

Zahn disdains the use of weapons or armor, preferring instead to pummel his opponents using only the gifts mother creation has given to him--his fists, feet, and head. He is his own walking lethal weapon, yet his introspective nature makes him a little ignorant of the world around him. Often, he'll wander aimlessly, unless a friend pulls him back from the cliff's edge or an enemy tries to take a poke at him. Then his reflexes kick him into survival mode, and this miniature tornado goes off!

No, El Cuchillo is a blade, a master of weaponry. Spinning, slashing, leaping, throwing, juggling, if it looks impressive he does it. Not nearly so proficient in combat as he may appear (fear of pain and death, that sort of thing), Cuchillo nevertheless is the man all the women love, and all the jealous boyfriends love to hate. Eben is Fritz's only real rival, but refuses to be goaded into calling himself such. Whereas Fritz is dedicated to magic for its own sake, Eben just wants to live life to its fullest. If that means using his magic, great. If instead he'll get a bigger thrill from sneaking around a monster's lair wearing only a loincloth, that's fun, too. To Eben everything is a joke and an adventure, and he really wouldn't have pursued his magical studies so heartfuly if it wasn't such great fun seeing the frustration on poor Fritz when Eben duplicates a spell in moments which it took him weeks to perfect...

Although actually human, Thoro Din grew to such a great size and strength during his youth in a blacksmith that the neighborhood kids started to refer to him as an ogre. Thoro didn't mind, his gentle nature leading him to stoically take the abuse. All this changed the day orcs invaded his tribe while he was out gathering wood to feed the forge, slaying everyone. Upon his return, Thoro swore an oath to the gods of Good and Vengeance that if they would bestow paladinhood upon him, he would never cease in his efforts to prevent future tragedies like this. He now roams the world with his holy sledgehammer (his natural clumsiness makes him leery of using a sword), ever vigilant.
