When I trie to connect to IRC (with Trillian) it appears the folowing messege:
*** If your mail address were foo@bar.com, your username would be foo.
*** Closing Link: xXx[81.193.184.157] by Gamesleague.NL.AfterNET.Org (USER: Bad username)
*** Disconnected from irc.afternet.org.
And then:
*** Connecting to port 6667 of server irc.afternet.org
*** Closing Link: [81.193.184.157] by Gamesleague.NL.AfterNET.Org (Your host is trying to (re)connect too fast -- throttled)
*** Disconnected from irc.afternet.org.
I trie to connect with diferent usernames but wach time it guive me the same error can some one help me? |

I'm having similar problems but I suspect that my problems are more to do with my connection.
I simply cant connect to /sever afternet.org let alone try to connect to fumbbl chat. Every time I try it disconnects and tells me it will retry in 30secs.
Any suggestions?

Hi, I'm still having troubles connecting to the chat, and also I cannot spectate games anymore. I have used the hyrdrairc forums but the guys there couldn't help me. I know this problem is to with my connection some how as it says "socket error".
When I try to connect this is what appears.
18:51] *** Connecting to "irc.afternet.org:6667" (Attempt 1 of 110)
[18:51] *** Resolving host name
[18:51] *** Connecting to 81.23.252.119:6667
[18:51] *** Socket Error (10060: Attempt to connect timed out without establishing a connection)
[18:51] *** Unable to connect to IRC server
[18:51] *** Disconnected
[18:51] *** Connect attempt 1 of 110 failed, delaying retry for 30 seconds (Click "Disconnect" to cancel)
I dont use a firewall and the guys at hydra recon that my ISP might be blocking some sockets...
Any suggestions?

I have found a solution for 10060 socket error that works with mIRC. Here it is:
1) find public proxies compatible with IRC (support CONNECT method for port 6667) list - you may start here,
2) choose the proxy you want to use, for example: 212.93.160.7:2301,
3) set mIRC Connect|Firewall options:
- Firewall support: Both,
- Protocol: Proxy,
- Hostname: enter host you selected in step 2) - for example: 212.93.160.7,
- Port: enter port you selected in step 2) - for example: 2301.
Now you should be able to connect to irc.fumbbl.com:6667 via the public proxy.
Unfortunately Hydra doesn't support proxy connection configuration. 
It needs to be solved in some other way which I don't know yet. |

I have found a solution for Socket Error 10060 that works with HydraIRC. Here it is:
1) "Let the Forge be with you!", go to desproxy SourceForge project page and download desproxy (remember to RTFM  ),
2) find public proxies compatible with IRC (support CONNECT method for port 6667) list - you may start here,
3) choose the proxy you want to use, for example: 212.93.160.7:2301,
4) add your localhost port as new IRC server in HydraIRC (example - address: localhost, port: 9667),
5) use command line to run desproxy that will establish connection between your localhost port with FUMBBL IRC via IRC compatibile proxy, example: | Code: | | desproxy irc.fumbbl.com 6667 212.93.160.7 2301 9667 |
6) connect HydraIRC to the server added in the step 4). |
