i like your idea....
but i have a suggestion to the ideas you have proposed..
here is my suggestion....
So here's my idea.
After both coaches have had turn 7 roll a d6
1-2 continue to turn 8. 3-6 continue to turn 8
After both coaches have had turn 8 roll a d6
1-4 half ends. 5-6 half ends
there is no turn 9 so no need for a d6...
what do you think?

Your idea would increase the impact of good/bad dice and therefore reduce the skill level so I vote 'no'. |

I don't particularly care about stalling and I'm not completely convinced this would "fix it" - more like "change it" I would say. I still voted yes because I do like the idea of not knowing exactly how many turns are left in the game.
The more I think about it though, the more I think it would be quite frustrating in normal (i.e. non-stalling) play. You would generally need to decide between trying to score now and trying to score on a possible but not guaranteed next turn, as there's rarely a good way to hedge your bets. At which point it's a single dice roll to decide the game.
Although it seems like there's a lot of game-deciding single dice rolls in blood bowl already, most key rolls in the game can be compensated for by other rolls (e.g. you fail a pass, but then you recover the ball next turn), and you can improve your odds in a number of ways for all of them. This on the other hand will often be an unavoidable 1/3 or 2/3 roll that can't be mitigated or recovered from in any way.
I'd say it would at least be improved by changing it to be much less likely to occur, say 1/6 chance of finishing a turn early, then 1/6 of getting an extra turn. |

Good idea.
Nothing grip's my steering wheel more than when another coach stall's (just get on with the game init !), i useally just go for the biggest foul's possible untill they score.
Edit - watch the language --j |

If the OP really doesn't have a problem with stalling why think of a way to solve it? Seriously don't let it happen to you, problem solved. |

Its a nice idea but would inadvertently remove skill from the game. Games would probably be decided by who got given the extra turns to make their two-turn retaliation with. Games between skilled coaches would suddenly be decided by a roll off |

aren't the dice results what games between coaches of equal skill and equal teams boil down to anyway?
as for the poll...i read the topic then voted yes because i like the idea of stalling and game time
then i read the original post and wished I hadn't already voted |

This would e devestating against elves and skavens.... Giving the dorfs ANOTHER round to beat up those preciuos pansies without armour... not a godd way to keep the game balance imo. But in a TT leauge it might work wonders as a house rule... dont know until you try it. |
