I was just curious if the client supported pass block actions combined with jump up (say you're a dwarf long beard with pass block for example)? The rule book state: "The move is made using all of the normal
rules and skills (for example, having to dodge in order to leave opposing players" tackle zones).
And jump up reads: "If the player declares any Action other than a Block Action he may stand up for
free without paying the three squares of movement".
It might be helpfull to know before you find yourself in the middle of it. =) (I would think it's one of the tricky ones). |

Quotes are from the rule book... So I assume it would work together. |

I don't think you declare a move action when using pass block so jump up doesn't trigger.
But prone players can use pass block? Good to know. |

Maybe, but p[ass block is not an ACTION as defined by the rules. It's a murky one, this. |

pass block says: "the MOVE is made...". and jump up:" any Action other than a Block Action". Pass block doesn't say anything about being prone or standing. |

It says the player is allowed to MOVE up to 3 squares, and as far as I know move in BB is an action. (I asked cause I clearly don't find it clear).
EDIT: sorry this and the post above should have been one entry. And WOW, pythrr not just trolling the forums... what the hell?! =) |

You can make a block without making a block action, the fanatic does that. So I guess you can make a move without making a move action. |

As I said, it's murky. No need to get panties in a twist sir. |

Pass block is not an Action.
(Actions are: Block, Move, Blitz, Foul, Pass, Hand-off. Yes, pass block allows you to move, but does not let you take a Move Action).
Jump up clearly states that "when you take an Action other than a Block Action".
Since Pass block is not an Action, you cannot use jump up.
note that When you take a Blitz Action, you move (not a Move Action) and throw a block (not a Block Action). When you take a Pass Action, you move (not a Move Action) and then pass the ball (not a Pass Action). When you move a fanatic, you take a Move Action, and if he runs into some one, you treat it as a block (not a Block Action). |

So, perhaps it comes down to; is Pass block an action or not?
I believe both arguments for and against can be made.. tricky.
"A player with this skill is allowed to move.." (jump up) could argument for jump up is allowed, as a move is an action. But does the fact that it is a jump up over rule the fact that it is a move action?
(Perhaps I entangled stuff here, I'm a bit tired). |

No, the rules are clear. They distinguish between the extra move made as part of a Pass Block or Kick-Off Return and a Move Action, which is always capitalised and italicised. For example, see the Hypnotic Gaze or Ball & Chain skill descriptions. As such, as a Pass Blocker is not making any Action they cannot Jump Up. |

Can you use the 3 move from pass block to stand up, as long as it gets a TZ or INT involved in the pass? |

No. The 3 squares of movement to stand up can only be used at the start of a prone player's next Action. |
