An elf team can never have enough Guard, especially since your Guards are all AV 7 and you never know when you'll lose some of them.
Not taking Guard because it might get him killed is... weird thinking. You should do what will help you win the most games, it's always about the team, not the player. |

Would givr him sprnt to get a oneturner. Str3 amd Leap with Ag5 makes this a lot easier. You probably need a team rr for all the extra steps it would take.
If you want to take the double, take mighty blow. |

What's weird about it? You can't have everyone be a Guard, and so why wouldn't they want a cheap lineman doing the guarding as opposed to a legend? He has better uses. |

Note I didn't say you should always take Guard. It might be correct that because the team already has a good amount of Guards and he's such a high-value roleplayer, that he should rather take something that enhances his role (like Sure Feet or, yes, Pro).
But Guard is a really good skill, not least for elves, and you never know when you're going to lose some of the ones you already have. It's not a choice between Guard on a lineman or Guard on a wardancer, it's a choice between one more Guard on the team or making your Wardancer better at Wardancing. And since a lot of unpredictable stuff can happen during a game of Blood Bowl, having Guard on a Wardancer can turn out to be very valuable, even if you ideally wouldn't get a lot of use out of it.
It doesn't mean you now have to start using him like a marking lineman, it's just another tool in his arsenal and gives you more options. And yes, one of those options might be that if you're out of position and things are headed south, you can have him mark some punchy players to provide a Guard assist, and that might get him killed, but if that saves a game that you'd have otherwise lost he's done his job. (And if you don't think it's worth the risk, you can just not do it - point is, Guard gives you the choice, it lets you make plays that otherwise wouldn't be possible.) |

You really can't go wrong... but it will depend on how you play him.
I like Sure Feet as another built in reroll option that accentuates his already disgusting speed... but probably not as useful as a double (Guard or Mighty Blow depending on your style). Kick isn't really a dumb option either, as long as you never have to stick him on the LOS (which I can't imagine you doing willingly, ever!) |

Don't forget Pass Block. That right there is a good skill.
Yes, that's sarcasm. |
