It's very easy to understand with a thought experiment. Imagine that Claw and MB didn't exist and that you could increase the armor all the way up to 12. Increasing from 11 to 12 would then be very good for longevity because the player would live forever. But it would be very bad for winning games since the chance that it makes a difference when the player is powed is only 1/36. |

don't take +AV, take +MA so you're one square away, don't get blocked, and don't need armour

Yes, there are many times when AV isn't important, and there are many more times when it is, but this math does not work so directly. Really, we're talking about non-MB knockdowns (including all non-block knockdowns like failed dodges or GFIs), and non-DP fouls of the non-gang variety (such that net AV is 6 or higher). Happens a lot, but is far from the entirety of injury events. |
