Holy moley!
What I want to know is why Orc Trolls don't get more ball carrier love? Leading Orc Troll rusher is on 30. Orcs are slow anyways (simplistic thinking). Just guard em all up and laugh like a drain.

I have done an Orc team http://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=496156 built around the concept of a Troll Thrower. The team is made up of nothing but Orc Linemen and Goblins and a Troll. The whole point of the Offense is to set up to score off of Throw Teammate attempts and having more depth than my opponent.
I would Block the 3 guys and Blitz hoping for a few CAS.
Send some Orcs downfield to potentially scoop up a ball if the TTM goes splat... OR apply pressure if my opponent go the ball... OR to be in position to score if things otherwise went CAPUT with the TTM Attack.
The rest of the team was trying to get the ball into the hands of a Goblin standing next to the Troll. Then have that Troll fling the Gobbo downfield in hopes of scoring a 1 turn Touchdown. Or... to protect the Troll, Goblin and Ball long enough to attempt the TTD on turn 2 (or turn 3 if they had too).
With enough Line Orcs and their good Armor it was actually fairly successful. I think I won at least 1/2 of the games I played and I was taking on whoever would offer me a game.
Nobody knew that was what I was going to do every turn. So when on Turn 1 I was going straight to the TTM their Defense was not deep enough that I couldn't throw over it with ease.
This was all back in LRB4. I'm not sure how CRP would favor the strategy. In some ways I think it would be a better crazy strategy now and in some ways worse. |
