Hugh's Town Astrals vs Delbstadt Ducks

There you have it folks! Read it and weep... I know I did... Sad
The Ducks have promised that next game will be different! Very Happy

Great game Walks_In_The_Sun! And good luck!

(and on a side note, What you Fringe types get? Well... you get to beat the crap out of me in the league it seems! Wink )

And just to clarify - the TR caps... just for entry/season opening or season-long?

i.e. if I get to TR 154, I have to sell/retire my way back down to 150, every game, until the season ends?

The TR Cap is Only at the beginning of the season. If you grow your TR and then move up a division you will be okay, but if you get fat dumb and lazy (TR-wise) Wink and you are relegated you will have that much more TR to drop to make-weight in your new home.

Let me know if that's not clear.

Veteran Group A has completed Round 2. Of course, we rule!

Why you never overload on one side of the pitch or How 2 Blitzes in 2 turns can ruin your day.

Round 1 Premiere Summary
Good work all on completing all Round 1 matches with time to spare. Remember each round is now only 10 days long so do not delay or your peers will laugh at you!

If you haven't heard, we gained our first sponsor, , who will design a team logo for the winner of the Premiere Division.

Dead Body Love Affair ties St. Louis Hams 1-1
This was a straight up contest that aptly ended in a tie. In the post-game report Hams Coach Prophane can be seen taunting his opponent for not being as good a coach as he is a sportsman. We could see this rivalry heat up next season.

Taste the Waste defeats Nightmare on Sesame St. 2-0
Coach LurkingGrue performs damage control on this squad that continues to struggle, this no score, no casualty match sees some fans switch sides and apparently become lizard fans. On an upside, newly acquired Guy Smiley seemed to gain a lot of confidence with his blocking game and subsequently earned the game MVP for NoSS.
Saurus Frank takes the lead for casualties caused for Taste the Waste although the crowd favorite The Stallion still garners the game MVP for TtW.

Blud’n Gutz defeats Permanent Plutocracy 3-1
Well this game was much-hyped (mostly due to a huge amount of advertising $$ spent) and a whopping 110,000 fans packed the arena to witness a colossal bashfest….turned out to be a bit more of a one-sided affair with the greenskins reaffirming their love for fist to face action! As promised, Troll Gutz Grumblecraw smashed his way to 2 casualties, 3 separate greenskins scored tds, and Mugg Junka even made an interception. No Chaos Dwarf players were available for comment after the match.

Northern Wastes Jihad-Squad defeats Wasted Northerners 3-2
The score only tells part of the story as Wasted Northerners loses 2 linerats and a gutter runner in this match, greatly damaging the high-powered offense of WN.

Round 2 predictions
Permanent Plutocracy vs. Nightmare on Sesame Street – dwarves will defeat the Muppets.

Northern Wastes Jihad Squad vs. St. Louis Hams – The Woodies will outscore the orcs, but at what cost?

Blud’n Gutz vs. Taste the Waste – Skinks prove too much for Blud’n Gutz

Wasted Northerners vs. Dead Body Love Affair – rats continue to suffer under the claws of the werewolves, the fists of the golems, and the boots of the zombies.

And with 5 players on the pitch (2 standing) the Wasted Northerners were able to hold off the St Louis Hams 2-1 and guarantee they will be the worst Premiere team NOT to be demoted.

Season #4 record - a very mediocre 1-1-1 and a TR that refuses to climb.

So how do people feel about the shorter seasons. I don't prefer either, they both have merits. I know a couple of other coaches have expressed dislike, because one serious mauling and they are down and out for 2 "short" seasons while they could have a chance to recover at the end of a longer season.

Should we start a new thread?

The problem with a longer season is you could also have to take twice as many beatings before retiring your team, if the initial mauling is bad enough. Surprised)

If a longer season is desired, how long? I think everyone agrees that 7 games would be too long, so what is the magic number? Technically your teams are playing at least 4 matches with the Playoffs, but I think its short too. Keep in mind, we've been able to get almost all of them played, which does say something.

I would love to hear what everyone else thinks on the subject.

I think 6 games a season would be near perfect if people would get their games played, and /j NWL when in chat so we can get to know all of the coaches. :p Right now when in the NWL channel I see the couple of faces who are always there, but there are still a lot of coaches not using the channel.

3 games per season just seems way too few to me. I'd like a 5-6 game season myself.

Hopefully JKarr and I will meet up tonight and he will fail all his regen rolls. :p I fear undead. That will be my last game of the current season.

YOU AREN'T THE BOSS OF ME!!! Smile

With even number of teams there would have to be an odd number of games. Unless you have some teams play twice (If that is even possible).

And sicne we are about as fragile as a finger nail I throw up a vote for in-Season TR caps for each division.

Same caps as are currently used, but held during play.

I already play in the CCC. Wink

I would rather see the removal of the DP claw/RSC limit than a TR cap. I am not advocating either though.
