I have no idea why, but I am coming to this party with a lean High Elf team. I have no pictures, in fact I have yet to figure out how to reduce the pixels and be able to use a picture...
Expect to get bounced out in the first round. |

Altdorf Book and Casino "Pickers" Challenge
FUMBBL fans it is time to introduce the pickers challenge for the FUMBBL CUP.
Here is how it is going to work.
Every Wed. I will post 10 interesting matches for you to choose from. You will pick 5 of the matches. The entry form will have the 5 picks ranked from your 5 point game to your 4 point game all the way down to your 1 point game.
So the most points you can get in a round is 15 points. Every Wed. I will post 10 more matches and off we go for round 2.
So you are picking 5 games out of the 10 posted. You will rank your 5 picks by points you earn for a win. So your stone cold lock you would pick for your 5 point match and your toss up, I have no clue match as your 1 point match. Every round we add up the total points earned and keep a running total as we go through the FC.
NOW there will be a speculation bet worth 5 points also. It will be in the vein of: Of the 10 matches which one do you think will have a combined score (touchdowns) of 6+. Or of the 10 matches which one will have a combined CAS line that exceeds 10+CAS in the match.
AB&C has added another element to the "Pickers Challenge", More Prizes, More points and MORE CARNAGE!!!! (Ok, maybe not carnage but more points)
"Pickers" Challenge Survivor Pool
This challenge will be running inside the normal pickers challenge game, here is how it works.
In order to 'survive" you must pick your 3 point match correctly. IF you make a correct 3 pt match then you survive in this sub game into the next round. IF you miss your 3 pt. match you are OUT, FINI, Thrown to the sharks....CARNAGE!!!!
That last coach standing at the end of the pickers challenge survivor challenge who has not been eliminated gets a bonus of 10pts onto their final score.
IF all the remaining coaches go "out" in the same round. Tough luck, that is how the cookie crumbles and no one gets any bonus points.
IF at any point there is only 1 coach left in the survivor challenge going into a new round, he wins, regardless of what round that occurs in.
IF there are more than one coach still alive when the last round is announced, then all the surviving coaches get the 10 bonus points.
Got it? Good.

Pickers Challenge "other" Information
The matches that are selected will only be taken from the current round the actual FC is in. So the first round will only have matches that are scheduled for Round #1. IF there are BYE and some teams are already in round #2 they will not be on the pickers card.
IF at any point all the contestants have had every game selected and played. I will calculate up points and then make a new card for the next round. The chances of this happening are slim to none but you never know.
IF one team forfeits on the pickers card. Tough luck, the match does not count and in essence you lose on that pick.
I try to pick matches that IMO are interesting and would be called "toss up matches". I never put matches that I feel are one sided on the pickers card.
I also try to spread the "love" around and strive to not repeat a single team over many rounds of the pickers challenge. So the first few rounds Iam looking for those interesting matches, mixing some of the high profile teams with the lesser know teams and you will not see the same teams showing up over and over again.
So for the first 4 rounds of the FC we will have 80 teams get the pickers challenge "spotlight" put on them and all the pressure that comes with being in one of the marquee match ups of the round. |

I love gambling. This whole thing sounds a bit confusing to me though. Are you saying I will have to pick 40 games in the first 4 rounds and I pick weekly? What if some of those games are played, do I lose out?

Here is the big picture of the Pickers Challenge.
There will be 7 rounds of picks.
Each round starts on Wed. with a new card of 10 matches.
You will pick 5 matches every week.
IF you submit your "card" on lets say Friday, then some of the 10 matches will have already played and thus you cannot pick any of those matches.
SO, you are better off making your picks on Wed/Thursday.
Now, for coaches who want in on the action and have never done this before, do not worry. Once I make the round #1 card and you see coaches submitting their "card" it will be very obvious the process is easy. I will take care of all the book work and tally up the scores.
What if I miss a round and do not make picks?
That is not a issue. Every coach who enters the challenge will be allowed 2 passes. IF you do not submit a card and take the pass you will have "The Peoples Picks" replaced in for your picks, you pick with the people. So, you will still get points for the round.
IF you miss 3 rounds or the final round you are disqualified. |
