CAL vs HFX @ 10:45EST Wednesday
As for Bones...He'd love to come back but (a) it's a heck of a lot of work and (b) the results were too predictable. Add to (b) the inability to adjust the spread when betting is lopsided and you end-up with a unbalanced system.
He'll think about it some more though as there are a lot of requests... |

Bones is our resident bookie that ran a mostly legal sports betting operation out of my basement. He was kidnapped mid season by Calgary fans after he gave some "bad" odds on Calgary (that turned true I might add). He was released at the end of the season and spent a few weeks convalescing at a resort in Brampton. He is thinking of making a return but...no official word yet. |

QC vs Sask.
Not sure who to tip for the win. Classic strength and bash vs agility and speed. The Gainer the beast has tentacles, guard and stand firm so he's gonna be an elf magnet.
The Nurgles also give up 190 in inducements, so those nefarious Dark Elves might bring a wizard to the match to counter Lyndsay's new found passing game.
Oh and back when the tournament was running - how did coaches schedule their games on the 'upcoming matches' page? |

Well, I guess my best Warrior is dead. Can't keep her around with a 30k skill like that.... plus the PO and Claw 10k penalty. If the skill was 0k then I'd keep it and yeah it would be fun. But I can't take a 30k hit on a Warrior for Accurate. Sigh... that sets this team back another 5 games or so. |

QC vs SK was another hard fought tie to start the season.
I was certain Sasquishywan was in for the win on the final turns of the second half. Gainer's timely stupidity freed just enough QC dark elves to halt the drive in its tracks.
Well played by both coaches. |

Will have to watch the replay. Seems Saskatchewan just can't buy a win. |

Wait a couple weeks when they meet the Clawless Bombers for the banjo bowl.
If i don't get a timely fireball, I suspect the greater strength and block skills of the Gophers will carry the day. |

Well, I am still making some mistakes as a Nurgle coach that I need to stop making. There was a turn where I knew the Elves were going to pass and I didn't get my disturbing presence set correctly. Then when the pass was fumbled, I should have hit the receiver out of bounds, instead I tried to make a play on the ball with thoughts of advancing it. At this point in the match I was winning 1-0, the Elves scored on the next turn, since I fumbled the pick up. DUMB.
Then I had the ball 7 squares away with 1 turn left, an almost perfect Nurgle drive, and yes Gainer failed (3) tentacles which allowed the Elves to completely block me in and then the blitz knocked my ball carrier down. I couldn't get enough pieces in to position to clear a path to the endzone and in trying to do so a Warrior rolled double skulls.
Either way a 1-1 game against Elves is pretty much a win in my book. |
