It's more of how I'm going to play them, then skill choices

Well I think that is the hang up for your idea. The agility monsters it is all about the skills. They take off the wall normal skill rolls. They have very little ST access skills on the team. So they deny themselves even normal skill rolls to make them different.

Saying it is not about skill rolls but attitude and playstyle. Well no one can look at your team and see that. You look at the agility monsters and have no clue what they are doing, you would think Rabe is certifiable. You can tell he is trying something unique with his team, because of his zany skills.

The Monstrous Agility right now seem to be you average HE team but will take MB on all doubles and maybe a DP or two. But otherwise it looks like they will evolve into your regular Elf team.

How about lots of Fend/Wrestle/Side Step/DP/Sneaky Git as a way of getting pitch control?

Bashers rely on still being next to you to block you to get numerical dominance, but AG 4, Fend, Wrestle, Side Step can neuter that.

Pitch control can thus limit them to one blitz per turn, and good skills can stop that from being a Pile On+MB unless the opponent wants to put his bomber at risk from counter-fouling.

Not exactly a basher team, but a team very suited to playing against bashers.

This is why I cant wrap my brain around the idea of a Bashing elf team. The skills you list above are basically what elfs do once they blodge up. They get those postional skills to give them another leg up so to speak, thus why they are in big pain in the butt.

Is not the standard generic elf build: Blodge + SS and then with your last two skills hopefully roll a +STAT and a double for guard?

IF SO..then: The Monstrous Agility team cannot access this build to make them trully unique, right?

yup I'd say a basher elf team would take block/tackle/frenzy/jump up or dirty player/sneaky git/block everywhere it could, mighty blow/piling on for doubles. Wouldn't see any dodge, nor side step, on the team, until at least the 5th skill.

Where is this team intended to play? Who is this team intended to play? You will never outbash the bashers, however, if you play in ranked you can avoid the bashers. A team with block/tackle/frenzy/jump up or dirty player would be very good against other elves and tweener teams. Your inate agility would not be enough to compete when you face a mediocre bashing team from a traditionally bashing race.

Wow, I feel honored! Very Happy I do agree with many others that a "real" elven bash team is rather hard to achieve though. You'd need strength skills and therefore completely rely on doubles, which can be very frustrating (now that almost all my side steppers and the few dodge guys I had have died away I can feel it).
I think there are two ways that could possibly work (and be combined as well):

1) You can try to maximize the number of (2 dice) blocks by taking skills like Block, Frenzy (a couple of frenzied players to bring down the opposed LOS is nice indeed!), Side Step, Jump Up, Shadowing (?) and maybe Fend (the guys freed up can assist again) and hope for the occasional armor break and injury, helping make it happen with Dirty Player - I think I'd try to foul every turn with as SGDP player. I would also consider Grab an option for at least one player - nice to put the knocked over opponent into the right spot for a foul.Or even give (some of) your guys Block AND Wrestle to make sure you have your opponents on the floor when needed and your guys standing when needed. You could even have a couple of leaping frenzy guys to try surfing your opponents whenever possible. I'd expect such a team to have their own, various specialists, who are of course inferior to the normal, more or less optimal skilling routes.

2) Get your players (especially linos) to their first skill and fire them if it's not a double or useful stat increase (you might consider +AV more useful than normally...). Quite boring, I personally don't like it and I don't know if it's even frowned upon or against site rules. You'd probably end up with a team like the_sage's one (with a bit more MB), which IS rather cool. Smile

I could imagine the first route to be rather interesting and fun. And disturbing to the opposite coach, since no one expects Frenzy as a first skill on a multiple linos/catchers or two Sneaky Git/DP players hunting for prey...

Well, now that I think of it, I actually have a woodie team with the focus on inflicting pain... "Feed the Tree. If you look at the table I created in the bio, you will see that it works rather fine (note that only SIs and RIPs are recorded there!), though there's been a lot of damage on my side as well. Smile

I had forgotten about frenzy, by dodge and side step as skill choices I meant as later skills

example skills (no doubles or stats)
Linemen 2+= DP SG
Linemen 3+=Block Frenzy Tackle Side Step Dodge Fend
Blitzers 2= Frenzy Side Step Leap Dodge

that's what I have now future players will most likely be decided if I get doubles/stats or suggestions

I like Norse and I want to play my High Elves close to them

It's in ranked and I will take any challengers.

Would anyone be interested in writing fluff, making Logos, etc.? I'm not the most creative person ever, it took me ages to figure out the names of the players and they aren't even that good

Pick Chaos Pact and build an horde of pass+strong arm+dumpoff guys with a pair of catchers (elf+gobbo)

It even seems effective at first glance Laughing

There's plenty of awesome artists here. The_Murker is making team logos to anyone who donates to fumbbl in a very interesting capaign. So if you have any interest in donating something to keep the site running now it would be a good time.

I voted pie. Regardless of my opinion as to the merits of your idea the pie option for me covers my view that your time here is yours to choose how to spend it. Make your team, enjoy yourself skilling your players, accepting all challenges or hitting specific milestones (100 games, xx TW, etc yours to decide.) then return here and tell us of your experiences (or blog, or both!).

Take care Dalfort.

Well then, I've played two games so far with them so far

The First: was disappointing to say the least, he wasn't a very good player, didn't have a good team and he conceded. Nothing but two MVP's (linemen) for me there

The Second: much better game, ok team good coach, lost two one with td's lost three nil with cas. 2 CMP (lino with MVP and lino who got MVP ), 1 TD (blitzer) and an MVP (lino that got CMP)

So I got two skills out of these two games one 6 (4+2) and one 10 (5+5) for the first I'll go dirty player but the second i'm undecided, my options are MB, Guard or AV
