Werewolf: Chaoston
It was a clear and moonlit night...
A small pack of wolves reached the edge of the icy evergreen forest
and peered hungrily at the Village of Chaoston next to the river far below.
Communicating with a growl and a flash in their eyes they raced toward the foot of the mountain.
It was time for the Werewolves to play with their food!
...Meanwhile...
An ancient form long dead rustled inside his tomb.
By sheer will alone, he forced his spawn to awaken and rise.
They knelt before him and understood his desire immediately.
The Vampire hibernation had ended early
and they needed to feast from their long slumber...
...Meanwhile...
The night flashed as day when a fiery streak suddenly burned the sky!
Plummeting from the heavens, a rocky mass hurtled toward the planet.
With a crash that could be felt for miles, it impacted the earth just over the horizon.
After the dust had settled the rock lightly cracked open and incomprehensible forms leaked out...
Alien Invasion!
...Meanwhile...
The Master of Assassins snapped awake from his meditation.
With his decades of martial arts training and keen mystic senses,
he knew that the ancient enemies of his clan would be gathering at this very moment!
With a single leap he cleared the room and landed next to his few most trusted bodyguards.
Their enemies would rue the day they offended this Ninja clan!
...Meanwhile...
Blue energy spheres crackled into existence with lightning bolts lingering around each one.
Metallic liquid forms rose into rough humanoid shapes and communicated silently using strange magicks...

A solitary being raged inside its magical prison deep beneath the mountain.
This creature could not be described in mortal terms since it had existed long before mankind.
As it tore against the impregnable bonds that held it just outside this dimension of existence,
it knew that soon it would be able to unleash a Surprise upon the world above...
...Meanwhile...
Innkeeper Plorg sighed, wondering how the entire population of Chaoston
had won a free vacation to the neighboring continent except for him.
Dusting off the bar and eyeing a bottle of comforting spirits,
he contemplated the entire village being deserted for the next several weeks.
Such was the state of things.
If only some passing travellers would stop by then maybe business would look good.
Luckily, a group of fifteen total strangers knocked on the Inn door at the exact same time!

Werewolf: Chaoston
Teams:
3 Werewolf
3 Vampire
3 Alien
3 Ninja
3 Cyborg
Each team knows the other members of their own team.
They may communicate privately with living members of their own team,
but they may not communicate to other players outside the main thread.
Nightly Attack
Every night, there is an attack!
Every player may send a PM to me designating a nightly attack target.
Use the Subject: Attack player
If the Subject line does not contain the words "Attack" and a player's name
without having to open the message, then your attack will not count!
The last PM received before attack time will stand until the target is dead,
so you don't have to resend the same target name every day.
On the first night, all teams get to attack.
After the first night, and before the Surprise Event,
one team will be chosen randomly to attack each night.
Every attacking player will deal one(1) Hit Point(HP) of damage to their target.
Each player starts with the maximum 5 HP.
Each attack target will be informed by PM how much damage they have taken by which faction(s).
Each attacker will be informed by PM of their target's team identity.
Since the evidence of such an epic nightly battle can not be ignored,
it will be revealed in the main thread which faction(s) took damage.
If any players die during the attack, their identity and faction will be revealed in the main thread.
Enemy Teams
Each team has three secret enemy teams.
Two enemies will be mutual and the other will not.
Team A needs to kill Teams B, C, and D
Team B needs to kill Teams C, D, and E
Team C needs to kill Teams D, E, and A
Team D needs to kill Teams E, A, and B
Team E needs to kill Teams A, B, and C
The matching of the teams to these letters will be rolled randomly and kept secret.
Each team will be informed by PM of the three enemy teams they are trying to kill.
Temporary alliances are allowed but all discussions must be conducted in the main thread.
Bonuses
Teams can gain bonuses based on how many enemy teams they have destroyed.
With each enemy team destroyed, each team that was assigned to kill them
may choose to gain one of the following bonuses for their entire team.
- Regeneration
Each player heals 1 HP every day in addition to other bonuses.
- Drain
If an attack target dies during the night,
each attacker is healed by the total HP damage taken (from all sources) by the deceased.
The HP drained will be the target's HP at the time of Attack, no more.
- Frenzy
Each player returns half the total damage they receive (rounded down) to all attackers.
Nightly Burning
In order to put an end to these horrible nightly attacks,
Innkeeper Plorg suggests what any upstanding village would do...
Vote for someone to die every day until it stops!
Every living player may post in the main thread with a vote of someone to burn.
Use bold text like so:
Edited posts will not count.
You may say burn player or kill player or other violent verb
as long as it is in bold next to a player's name.
The "burning" process actually involves decapitation with a blessed silver axe,
then burying the remains in radioactive salt, then the actual burning,
and then pouring in a cauldron of boiling acid.
This process deals 1000 HP of damage.
Tie votes will burn all vote leaders and their team identities will be revealed.
The Nightly Burning occurs every day immediately before the Nightly Attack.
Both events occur at 18:00 bbtime.
The results may be posted later than this (individual result PMs are sent first),
but Vote posts and Attack PMs count up until 18:01.
The game will start with a Nightly Attack, then a day to vote,
then each day will have a Burning and an Attack immediately after.
Burned players may not Attack the same night.
Surprise Event
The moment specific conditions are met, there will be a Surprise Event.
This will change one or more of the existing rules in a predetermined way.
Rule Change 1: After the Surprise Event, ALL teams get to attack every night.
Rule Change 2: To Be Announced After The Surprise Event
Dead Players
Dead players may not post in the main thread.
Dead players may not communicate about the game via PM.
Inactive Players
Players will be replaced from a waiting list after two days without voting in the main thread.
Victory
The last team standing wins!

do not fret, christmas is near, there might be pirates coming soon...
Plorg: Gutsy and fresh. The health bar is an interesting concept. The only thing that slightly worries me, is how the dynamics of this game are meant to work.
Clearly it is no longer a "mafia" game, as there is no innocent faction. Would you entertain that as long as the killing is awarded to teams randomly, that no team can kill twice? I feel that Spiroavalanche might just upset the balance too much. A head start of information / damage to oppo is OK, but twice or even three times in a row really puts the other factions behind.
Other than that it provides a great base for head games.
(Oh and does "heal" go beyond recovery? Or stop at the starting health) |

I dunno - seems interesting, yet... CHAOSton seems a bit too chaotic for me - no innocents, a ton of HP's, five factions, if feels pretty involved, and seems like it might drag on a bit.
On the other hand, I'm afraid if I sit on the sidelines, I'll regret not joining in on the fun.... |

Seems like a self explanatory scattershot. Unless the team coordinates that is. This could have alot of tactical potential and the way its done is quite cool. |

Each Attacker can choose their own target.
The teams can coordinate and all 4 hit the same.target, or 1,3 or 2,2 or 1,1,2 etc.
As for there being no Innocents...
This game is designed so that every player knows what it feels like to be on an Evil team.
From a single team's perspective, they are trying to kill everyone else just as if their targets were confused Villagers.
However, pretty much everyone is trying to kill pretty much everyone else. |
