I'll be running a game for one of those two systems via IRC one night a week, should I gather enough participation. Anyone interested in playing? And which system would you prefer? |

By night do you mean US night or BBTime night?
Would be interested, but because of family & work finding a suitable time might be an issue.
I have GM'd (tabletop) both, but never played either, so either one would be great. Still, if I had to choose one, I think I'd go for Cthulhu.
PS. Fantasy Grounds is pretty handy for playing RPGs online. |

circular logic and sillysod (I think) sometimes run forum based paranoia games. |

I'd be interested in a Paranoia game. What time zones are we talking? |

This wouldn't be forum-based. We'd setup an IRC channel, I'd run a dice-bot, and we'd use the tabletop rules to run the game.
As far as time goes, I'm really open to anything. I live in CST, United States. I can run the game at any time. If you're interested, post what nights, times you'd be available. Thanks for the interest. |

Veron, that Fantasy Grounds software is pretty neat. But I dont figure many players would like to buy the software just to play. I don't necessarily assume that "paying" is a prerequisite, but have you used the software before? |

Yes, I actually have bought the licence for it (thought it was good enough for me to support it, it's not that pricey anyway). My version is 1.x though, not the latest 2.x version.
I GM'ed a few games with it, and played on a few. We used TeamSpeak with it so we were able to talk while playing (speeds things up quite a bit). It's not necessary though, you can just use the chat tools the program has to offer.
I like FG alot, it's very handy for showing maps, where characters are on it, for rolling dice, character sheets, etc etc. Of course if you run a game that FG doesn't have a ruleset for, you'd have to make your own or just use it without all the features that the program has to offer. There is a Cthulhu ruleset available though for $15.
If there would be enough people interested, I wouldn't mind buying the lastest version of FG. But using IRC is okay too. |

There are actually many alternatives to FG, too. From Fear the Boot we have one person's take, copied below.
Again, this is just one guy's opinion but the links are right handy. I've never actually tried any of the above but they seem worth looking into, at least.
Edit: Note that - particularly for Paranoia and 'Thulhu, I don't think the crunchy mappy bits are the way to go. IRC, skype, ventrillio, group IM or whatever you'd like sounds like more than enough to me, particularly if you're playing light on the rules. Just bringing up some free alternatives in case you disagree. |

We generally run forum games which often have their background themed from popular rpgs. They arent rpgs definately arent tabletop games.... they are a type of game you will pretty much only see in a forum. |

Interested in CoC, depending on what time/day it'll be on. |

Werewolf games were edited in ermmm "Tabletop". I actually used that word because I didn't knew the right translation for "Jeu de société" (which include card games or things like that). |
