I recall having a discussion a few weeks back about organizing a mass activation in the box at a specific day and time each week.
The idea being that we try and get as many coaches as possible to all activate for the same slot, therefore improving the quailty of match ups, and having the joys of seeing '40 coaches activated'
Hopefully we can arrange this for a time that suits the most number of coaches, and see what happens
In This thread we should discuss what times and days are the most suitable, and then we can arrange a poll to decide on the final day and time.
Personally i woul like to see it happen on a week day in the early evening, i.e around 19:00 bbtime. |

Where's the largest quantity of black box player situated? 19:00 bbtime might mean in the middle of the night for some, or in the middle of work/study/school. There's no good time for everyone, but if you can figure out when the biggest amount of black box players play, then you are one step on the way. |

That is what i am trying to achieve with this thread. Once we can nail down the prefered times, we can then hold a poll to decide when we should plan it for. From my experience in the box early evenings do seem popular, and the majority of blackbox coaches seem to be based in Europe. |

Maybe, but i wanted to make find out what times i should be polling on. Seemed silly to put a poll that might not cover the prefered days and times. |

I agree with Kraark. US people should look at 1:00 AM BBtime.
Weekends definately though - work better for all. A mass weekend activation would be cool for those that could attend.  |

hmmm, in principle i like any idea that promises to improve matchups - not sure about this one, though...
...at 19:00h ... 20:00h i can't remember unreasonable matchups when i activated at least 3 or 4 teams for a round,
but what will happen when i activate at 18:30h and everyone is waiting for the "big" round - i'll probably get more unreasonable matchups, then 
i like the box just the way it is - simple and quite efficient, imho: the less extra-rules (or agreements in this case) - the better
EDIT: it's been enjoying a lot more attention from (former) R coaches ever since tourneys were introduced, too |

I understand your point Treorius, but i wasn't planning on this becoming a regular daily occurence, just a one off to see what happens when the box is given a much larger number of coaches and teams to deal with. Since it only takes most box players less than 1 hour to play a game of blood bowl, then it only really require that everyone turns up, and the coaches hanging around for the 30 minutes before the big activation just wait another half hour
Thanks for the stats Christer. I would assume most games start in the hour before they are reported. This means that most games are played between 18:00 and 23:00 bbtime.
The idea to do a 20:00 on a Saturday or Sunday, so as to let the Americas have a good chance of getting there to seems like a good plan to me. I suggest we go for it a week on Sunday (so the 30th August) at 20:00 bbtime. If we are agreed we can ask to have a news announcement for it, so as to atrract as many coaches as possible. It would be good to test how well the box can really work.
