Hi everyone ! There is a lot of talk about [B] being full of basher teams and lacking elves and softer teams. This always intrigued me because, even if I haven't played that much in [B] (only 25 games so far), I always felt it was kind of even, I had the feeling I faced different races and had a nice mix of finesse and bashers. Which is obviously not the case for everyone.

So I too decided to search for myself what is really was . The first problem I encountered was, what's the difference between a bashy team and a non-bashy team ? Some teams are obvious (dwarves are bashy, elves aren't) but some are more difficult to determine (there is a bit of talk about wether Undead are really bashy in the other thread for example, or if lizzies are, and so forth). So I used the E.L.F league graph that conviently pushes all the bashiest teams into the upper tier.

So far this is what I faced :

Quote:

Cat A (Brutal):

Dwarves 3
Chaos Dwarves 0
Khemri 4

Total cat A = 7

Cat B (Strong):

Chaos 1
Orc 3
Ogre 2
Undead 0
(Pact) 0

Total cat B = 6

Cat C (Average):

Amazon 0
Human 0
Norse 0
Nurgle 2

Total Cat C = 2

Cat D (Elf):

Dark Elf 1
High Elf 3
Pro Elf 0
Wood Elf 1

Total Cat D = 5

Cat E (Odd):

Necro 1
Lizard 2
Skaven 0
Stunty 2
Vampire 0

Total Cat E = 5

Cat F (Newcomers) :

Slaan 0
Underworld 0
Chaos Pact 0

Total = 0

Grand Total = 25

19 of those matches were made with my high elf team, the Black Box's Bad Boys.

I have faced a good amount of elves (1/5th of all my games) and other softer teams (Cat E, including two stunties, which also account for 1/5th of all my games). I have also faced a high number of khemri and dwarven teams, which surprised me a little but not that much - so far it confirms my feeling that my elves do face varied races even if they have a tougher time than I expected because they encounter cat A and B races more often than not.

It's also interesting to see that my dwarves have only faced bashers, save for one game against lizardmen ; I have the feeling bashers are likelier to face bashers, but the Beardlings have only played four times so they definitely haven't played enough to make my opinion more than a mere feeling.

I am aware that the ELF graph is a discutable choice in defining who's a basher and who's not (especially since it's not it's actual purpose), and I know that it count a lot more non-bashy teams than bashy ones, but I find it a good starting point for my interrogations. What are the bashy and the finesse teams for you ? How many of each have you faced so far, and with what race ? I find it interesting to challenge what I feel and the actual events.

I keep on getting to play vs zons. Please make it stop!
I would 10 times rather play vs your " brutal" teams.
And getting to play vs ogre is not " Strong". Its a lottery ticket waiting to be won.

With this team:

I'd say the majority of my games were against bashier teams. That said, I think it's because I've been hanging around 1400 tv(by matter of having a death rate about equal to my spp gaining rate, not by choice), and it seems a lot of dwarves and orcs level out for a while around that TV.

Hitonagashi. with all that mb it makes your team into a basher.

Yep Smile. Didn't say I wasn't...just that I usually face bashers. I didn't think the BB algorithm looked at MB count?

I played 15 games so far with the following teams (mostly picked by the bot):

Wood Elves - 5
Dwarves - 2
Underworld - 2
Nurgle - 2
Chaos - 2
Norse - 1
Vampires - 1

I had to face:

Chaos - 4 (one team twice)
Necro - 3
Amazon - 2
Chaos Dwarf - 1
Slann - 1
Dwarf - 1
Chaos Pact - 1
Orcs - 1
Nurgle - 1

Can't complain about a lack of diversity. Very Happy

I have played 36 games in the box since the changeover.
My teams are Dwarf, Chaos Dwarf, High Elf, Lizard, Pact, Human, Nurgle and Norse.

Cat A (Brutal):
Dwarves 2
Chaos Dwarves 4
Khemri 0
<b>Total cat A = 6

Cat B (Strong):
Chaos 3
Orc 5
Ogre 0
Undead 1
Total cat B = 9

Cat C (Average):
Amazon 4
Human 2
Norse 0
Nurgle 3
Total Cat C = 9

Cat D (Elf):
Dark Elf 0
High Elf 1
Pro Elf 0
Wood Elf 0
Total Cat D = 1

Cat E (Odd):
Necro 4
Lizard 0
Skaven 3
Stunty 0
Vampire 0
Total Cat E = 7

Cat F (Newcomers) :
Slaan 2
Underworld 1
Chaos Pact 1
Total Cat F = 4

Grand Total = 36

Very few elves, but i got to play Skaven 3 times, Slann twice and an Underworld team once.
I wouldn't mind a few less Orcs and rookie Amazons but the variety is very refreshing on the whole.

I noticed that in my last 9 matches i have played against a different race each time.
It no longer feels like the old blackbox where the big four(dorfs, orcs, chaos, khem) dominated.
