Was interested in possibly doing this to save on TV for an ailing Skaven team. Any way to do this or is it, once you buy it you can't get rid of it. |

nah, rules have nothing about firing an Apo so it's not allowed. |

Yeah, the inability to fire my apo led me to retire and restart my halfling team too. =( |

Yes they do, under post-match sequence on page 29 under 2.(update roster), it says players and staff may be fired, and again under 2.5: choose to let go (i.e. fire) any ... coaching staff.
The rules list the apo under coaching staff (page 16/17), so by the book he may be fired. (though I suppose that means you may fire your head coach as well.. hmmm =)
FUMBBLs disallowing of the firing of the apo is in fact a house rule.
edit: OK, a bug then. =D |

The apothecary is part of the coaching staff, and according to the rules they can be hired and fired.
FUMBBL wont let you fire them. I've been trying to get them to fix this, or at least get an answer why not, but so far no luck.
Note: Some while a go Christer showed some new team pages he was testing, and on those pages you could fire the apothecary. |

It has been reported as bug 516. It shows as Assigned to Christer, so it is apparently a bug and not a house rule. No word on a fix yet, though. |

This will become very important to BB7s in case we stick with the currently tested prohibition of the apothecary, since old teams would not be able to switch over to new BB7s (or there would have to be the very clumsy workaround of not using the apo ever). |
