[00:04] ERROR Closing Link: omicron_[host217-44-13-211.range217-44.btcentralplus.com] by Milan.IT.AfterNET.Org (USER: Bad username)
[00:04] *** Socket Disconnected

Try just opening the IRC application then going to Chat on fumbbl and hit Connect to chat.

Should do everything for you.

Looking at the message, I am thinking that you need to configure your identity settings in the client. The "Username" setting is obviously set to something that is not allowed on the network.

I solved the problem in the end, I am networked through my stepfathers pc to the internet connection. With irc clients it uses the host computers email to get ident, this seems especially done with XP. try using the beginning of the host computers email addrres before the @ as an ident. Dont worry you can still choose a your own nick.
