I know we had a chat room here and it was a pain to set up but there is a new chat in town that every one is using its called Discord would people use it for FUMBBL? i miss the chat some times and good place for us coaches to hang out.

No i have used it for other groups and you dont have to have a mic, thats just another added option, here are the features Discord has https://discordapp.com/features

I would just seeing if there would be any interest out there for it, How is the chat channel these days on the site is it active?

Just be nice if people was together chatting again like the good old days.

I popped in a couple of times before signing back in after my 4 month break, it was quiet :/ but as they "build it, they will come" Razz if they don't then it's a small group that get to use it lol

IRC is out dated Discord offers a whole lot more the site is moving on in leaps and bounds why wouldnt we want to use some thing far better than IRC?

I would like to point out that I was a Discord skeptic but it really does make a difference in getting people together to play one off matches. That's just my two cents.

To be clear: I'm not skeptical about Discord. But if you want this to happen, it needs to be adopted site-wise: replacing the chat on the B activation page, the mibbit link, and all references to IRC in the Help section. Otherwise you'll have some on there and some still on IRC, causing the split I referred to, and with new coaches still going to IRC first. So; don't ask us, persuade Christer.

The chat does need updating. Seems like hardly anyone uses the IRC anymore and I miss the fun banter of the 'good 'ol days' ... Sad

No one uses it because it can be difficult to set it up, while discord can just login via a browser.

and what xneolx said im sure we dont need the bot telling us about when to activate etc etc any more so i dont think we need that option now.

Could just update the IRC section with some thing like "Our chat room can be found at *link here* as thats how simple it would be compared to how the IRC is now, take a look at the page to get it set up its massive lol.
