And the cherry has been broken in the Champion's Cup Challenge Universal Invitationals
Underdog Monsta Masha womped on favorite Bad Mr Mojo's Badness Posse 3-0. Mojo beastman Billy Bad Ass played his final bloodbowl game while Monsta star werewolf Scott Howard was the stud of the game with 2 TDs and a CAS.

With the 1st round just about over, it looks like those creepy undead teams are taking over the tourney. First it was Monsta Masha (Necro above) pulling the 1st upset of the year, then the multiple mummies of the V-town Beatdowns (Khemri) put a serious hurting on falconeyed's elves 2-1 while inflicting a round record 7 CAS. Ouuuuch!!
In the same side of the bracket Grue's Hammered Horrors (Necro) ate some hafling for dinner on the way to a 3-1 and 5 CAS win. And finally, Rotten Bar (just normal undead) won as the heavy favorite against Exhumed Corpse 2-0.
Who will stop the rambling hordes that have taken over the Vidar Invitational?? Da Todfatha's Da Green Bottles (Orcs) look like they have the best shot, as the only other current "non-undead' teams are Mus Rattus (Skaven) and Return of the Locksmiths (Dwarf). And those two teams meet each other in the 2nd round.
Vidar himself is not too pleased about the outcomes but finds himself secretly rooting for the V-town Beatdowns based on their pure power.

<b>Aesir Open "Opens" With Extra Time</b>
The 1st 2 Aesir Open games have been nail biting, bone crunching, overtime affairs. The opening game saw General Destruction (Khrage) win a 3-2 OT game vs an outgunned squad of Escaped Rats (skavenboy).
The 2nd match was even bloodier and longer as Alcing Ragaholics (AlcingRagaholic) won on a coinflip over Metallorca! (Reaper)after 24 turns of mayhem yielded a 1-1 tie. The game featured 9 CAS in a hard fought affair.
Aesir has already deemed the Ragaholics as "his" team of destiny.
Seats are selling out to witness the remaining 6 opening round games.

<b>American Standards Wins 1st Universal Tourney</b>
American Standards coached by pizzamogul claimed the 1st Vidar crown in overtime over a game Monsta Masha squad coached by Khrage. The Undead must have felt like they were in the Hel Niflheim Challenge as they played vs Khemri once and 3 of the 4 Necro teams in the group. Talk about a tough draw.
Congratulations on the 1st Championship and the initial lead for the Uni Cup and Champion's Cup.

<b>Western Hills Cleavers Wins 2nd Universal Tourney</b>
The Western Hills Cleavers coached by Mully won the Valhalla Vet Cup 2-0 over Da Todfatha's Waaagh Pain State. In a rather bloodless game, the only casualty was to the Orc's DP who followed the honored code "live by the boot, DIE by the boot."
The Cleavers faced an array of opposition, knocking out Dark Elves and Dwarves on the way to the championship. Reports that tournament funds were used to buy the refs have been quickly denied by coach and tournament organizer Mully.
Congratulations on their 1st Championship of the Champion's Cup.

<b>Hamburger Helper Wins final Universal Tourney</b>
Hambuger Helper coached by Mully embarrassingly won the final Universal Invitational of the month 3-0 over AlcingRagaholic's Alcing Ragaholics. The Norse gods were NOT happy as the humans ran circles around the Norse, who looked intimidated playing in front of a stadium filled with deities and demi-gods.
On the way to the championship, Helper was able to "help" retire some dwarves from bloodbowl action after they were outbashed.
I'd congratulate myself but winning two of my own frigging tournaments is enough already. So I will just take my trophies and go home.

<b>Wilwarin Proves Tough Enough to Claim Vidar II</b>
Wilwarin coached by Ug defeated the evil Hammered Horrors 4-2 to win the April Vidar Invitational. The elves proved resilient as they danced their way to 2 TD victories in each of their tourney games while managing to stay out of the RIP box.
This was Ug's 2nd CCC title of the year, proving he can win with bashers & dancers .....uhhm ..... I mean elves. For the Hammered Horrors this was a bitter pill to swallow after blowout wins in their 1st two rounds.
Coach Ug was quoted after the game "Winning with elves isn't all that hard, you just need a coach with brass balls willing to take them onto the pitch."

<b>Whaaaaaa! Proves Their Dominance in 2nd CCC Win</b>
Whaaaaaa! coached by casimir destroyed Grugni's Grudgebearers 3-0 to win the Vahalla Vet Cup II, but at the cost of 2 black orc injuries. The championship game was a bit anti climatic, especially after the OT thriller win over Hand of God in the semis.
Whaaaaaa! secured their place atop the Championship Cup standings with 107 points through April. The clear team to beat at the moment. They have also taken the lead for the Uni Cup. With a bullseye now squarely on their chests, we will see how they hold up the last 7 months of the year.

<b>Whaaaaaa! Unbeatable??</b>
Whaaaaaa! coached by casimir defeated Not So Superheroes to win their 2nd consecutive Valhalla Cup crown. Steady play guided them through the championship with a stiff defense and timely fouls.
This is their 3rd CCC championship and are clearly the team to beat at the halfway point of the 2006 championship year. They also have now taken a nice lead in the battle for the Uni Cup. Will anyone be able to take them down??? This reminds me of Mike Tyson in his hayday. Opponents quiver as soon as they step onto the pitch/ring. Still .... there are 6 months to go in the year and anything can happen.

<b>Whaaaaaa! Wins Uni Cup 2006</b>
Whaaaaaa! coached by casimir claimed the 1st Uni Cup title with 101 total points.
Beginning with Valhalla Veteran Cup II, Whaaaaaa! went on a run claiming Valhalla Vet Cups III and IV to claim the undisputed championship. Wilwarin, coached by Ug came in 2nd with 71 points while claiming 2 championships of their own.
But it was Casimir's Orcs that rule this title. They managed to crumple their opponents while staying relatively injury free themselves.
