So glad LRB5 has changed the way niggles work. No more players missing games simply +1 to the injury dice roll per niggle next time they get hit.

Woot! Another LRB5 thread!

But the 1st one especially about the formerly dreaded niggling injuries.

Treeman niggle isn't that bad.
Stunty niggle is very bad.

On niggled halflings you need only 7+8 to get a cas.

So new niggle rule is good for high av teams, very bad for low av teams.

Thing is that niggling injuries is very uncommon in the current ruleset. There is no aging and it's only 1/24 chance for an injury to be a niggling injury (used to be 1/9).

Well, but new claw is good against high av teams and useless against low av

This is more than balanced by the new PO totally ripping low AV teams appart.

Current niggle is easier on low av teams. They often play with more reserves, so a guy missing is not a total disaster, and when he does play you can stick him on the line till he dies.

LRB5, for high av bashers a niggle can easily be carried, for low av teams it makes the player a totalliability, just too easy to hurt.

Overall, these changes have favoured high AV.

LOL Laughing

Just remember a Nuffle 1/24 is very different from a real 1/24 chance Wink

I'm not convinced they favoured high AV.

MBBL just finished its first season with LRB 5.0 rules which ran from October 1st, 2005 to May 31, 2006 and we had the playoffs .... here were the top 8 races out of 180 teams:

1st: Orc
2nd: Khemri
3rd: Human
4th: Norse
5th: Dwarf
6th: Wood Elf
7th: Human
8th: Wood Elf

Out of the top 8 ... only 3 teams with 2 or more AV 9 players. So I'm not convinced at this time that it favours high AV from the results that I've seen.

Top 8 races in the MBBL right now for winning % are:
1st: Khemri
2nd: Human
3rd: Wood Elf
4th: Dwarf
5th: Orc
6th: Norse
7th: Chaos Dwarf
8th: Skaven

So again ... a decent showing in there by AV 8 and AV 7 teams.

Galak>> Surely, this could amount to good and bad coaching more than an inherent lack of bias in the rule set. I am personally concerned about high AV teams being pumped in 5.0, although I can't put a finger on the exact problem. Just paranoia I guess Smile

Some of the problems with LRB 5 might be the high winning % of khemri, although MBBL stats are probably screwed up by high level coaches. Another thing is orc and chaos dwarves - VERY powerful races before, and especially orcs just got a price hike on the troll. Of course, the new claw hurts them (vs. chaos, compare old claw with new claw+MB), but they gain more diversity with new skills while they mainly got nerfed with... the troll cost increase. Still, I don't know if they'll be overpowered.

Hard to take 'testing' seriously with a result like this though.

No it makes sense, Khemri can play the ball just as well as everyone else when the pitch is clear
