Subject says it all,
Lets try to do some viable squig rules for goblin teams.
0-1.....4 4 2 6- RSC Frenzy Big guy (to stop it from using rr) star (to stop it getting skills). =Price?
Could do another version with ball and chain so it has random movement,or give it ofab due to its uncontrolable nature.
Post your own suggestions. |

I see no reason to make it not gain skillls. No hands would be a good skill for it as well. Ofab would be cool for it if on a failure it had to bite a gobbo, but I'm sure the client isn't going to allow for that and the gobbos teams don't have thralls =) |

Personally, I would make it something like 4 4 3 6 rsc frenzy no hands leap. Maybe even ag4, since the no hands means that all this will do is let it dodge and bounce a bit better. |

Hehe.. Could be fun. Maybe it should be a secret weapon that confers leap, sprint and frenzy but requires the stunty user to take Always Hungry tests every turn. Might work in with fanatics as a weapon that could not be considered an option for your 'long term' players. |

I alwas did figure Squigs to be something of a Goblin version of a jumping ball..
Since you can only have one, why not make it a normal goblin riding a squig. Much like the pogo stick. But not a star player in itself.
Add +2 to Goblin speed, +1 to str and count him as a big guy, give him skills like leap from the start. Then let the Goblin be able to earn skills. It more or less depends on the rider doesnt it?
Cost=Goblin 30k + squig 40k Total= Squig rider 70k
They do have squig herders after all so putting an uncontrolled Squig on the field would be like having a -Wild Animal- |

I reckon it should move first. Leap ag4 could be cool. |

Hence change it to Squig Rider..give the goblin +1 str, perhaps tackle and leap. +2 in move aswell..and raise his AV to 8..but then leave it like that..Inshort this gives the Goblin for approx 70k or more a rather good catcher in the end. So a flaw would not be bad to have..so I consider Bone Head to give it some drawback.
0-1 Squig Rider:
MA=8 ST=4 AG=4 AV=8
Skills: Leap, tackle, bone head
Cost=80k
(Knowing this will be hard to code most likely, instead of standing still on a failed bone head, it would be nice if it could scatter lets say D6 MA in random direction) |

For obvious reasons, nothing can be added that doesn't work as an existing skill. I prefer it as something that cannot work with the ball myself, and hence would rather leave off the rider. Perhaps something like 0-2 4 4 4 7 no hands leap razor sharp claws wild animal
Leaving off the big guy could let you get by with a str 4 wild animal. especially with the ability to sometimes leap out of really bad traps before blocking |

another amusing idea if you want them to be faster yet not with reliability is something like sprint surefeet like on the bull centaurs/ |

Trouble with WA klipp is it would have to block if it was standing next to an opponent already, hence no leap away.
And i feel Trr are for pro bloodbowlers(people who train) not really frenzied bouncy things.
I reckon 0-2 4 4 4 7 no hands, leap, frenzy, RSC, Big guy, OFAB |

I think definately Ball & Chain them. If FUMBBL doesn't support the NoHands skill, I'd reduce their agility to stop them picking up the ball (unless you think the squig could just grab it in his mouth?). He won't need it to dodge if he's Ball & Chaining it.
I think I'd have him looking llike this...
0-1 Squig 5 4 1 8 RSC, Big Guy, Ball & Chain, Star, Wild Animal $40,000? |

So much writing! I posted this in response to Nox's first one! Damn I'm slow!!
Here's the stuff...
0-2 Squigs 5 4 4 7 RSC, Leap, Frenzy, Wild Animal, No Hands, Big Guy G
I agree with the Big Guy call. I'm sure Squigs have already been made in some annual or something..? |
