Dwarves and Khemri rely on their defense to win games, either by refusing the opponents a TD or by winning 2-1.

A wizard, therefore, can be devastating, since a successful fireball can break a cage and allow the opponent to score. As a result, all Dwarves and Khemri can hope for is a tie or overtime, if it is a tournament.

What tactics do you use to minimize the effects of fireballs? A loose cage means it is easier to get to the ball carrier. Leaving the ball carrier alone at the back is of no use either, since neither dwarves or khemri excel at the passing game...

Either you have a spreaded cage, or you don't play those teams.

Nobody can have a strategy to win everygame. Keep that in mind.

It hit me when thinking about spreaded cages. Has anyone tried a double cage? One would be blasted by the fireball, but the outer players could get in the way to protect the ball. The drawback is that having so many players around the ball means the advance to the endzone will be dangerously slow...

Becuase the opponent doesn't use anything else?

Best defense against a wizard is to force your opponent to use him as early as you can. when it's gone, it's gone...and you have more turns left to repair it's impact on the game.

Otherwise, switch to plan B....plod and cage is a nice tactic, but it isn't universal for all game situations.

Ark is right. Regrettably, very few people use wizards here on fumbbl, anyway. They're funny, people! use them!!!
