Hey all,

I've been having some trouble figuring out the whole TZ thing. For instance, I play a Necro team and I was trying to block a Bull Centar and had a wolf north of him not in any TZ's and 2 skeletons west and south west on him not in any TZ's and a wolf south of him in 2 goblin TZ's. I wanted to use the wolf south of him to hit, to get away from the goblins and could only get one die with all those assists, I thought for sure I'd have 2 die on the dang BC.... Sad

I have read the rule book on its section on TZ's its like one page very short and doesn't explain it very well. I would really like to understand the whole TZ thing so I don't look like a complete noob when playing. Any advice or websites even books to read would help thanks!

BC ST = 4 + 2 ass from gobbos = ST 6
Wold ST = 3 + 3 ass = ST 6

Ok, but the goblins were only on the wolf to the south, their TZ's wern't touching anyone else, their TZ's weren't even touching the BC. But I guess they still get to assist because their TZ's were touching the Wolf? Is that right?

Thanks gk, its a big help.

U were ST3 blocking a Strength 4 player (-1 Strength)
Add to that the Wolf Assisting (+1 ST)
2 Skeletons Assisting (+2ST)
But Then Take Away the two Goblins next to your player who were trying to mob him (-2ST)
= +/- 0 ST all up, 1 Dice

Simple way to figure it is;
any TackleZones the Blocker is in, where those players aren't elsewise covered (or have guard) will give you -1ST
any TackleZones the Blockee is in, who arent covered by defenders (or have guard) will give you +1ST

Add those to the difference and if you come out on top you get 2 dice.

Best way to figure these out is to keep this in mind and spectate some low TR games, where not too many players have guard (as that can complicate things till you get the hang of it)

In your situation, if you had have covered one of the gobbos with a player, you would have been fine for the 2D Blitz.

Nearly right. Any defensive assists will give the target +1ST, not substract from your strenght. Usually that´s the same, BUT if you are aiming for a 3d-block you need more than twice the strenght. So if you block a gobbo with an ogre, you have a 3d block (5 is more than twice than 2) - but if there is an assist on each side, it´s only a 2d block (6 is not MORE than twice as much as 3).

Thx Circ - Forgot about that technicality. Learnt it wrong in TT games before Fumbbl, and even though I know better now, I still think of it expressed wrongly.

Shame on you, picking on Gobbos with your big ogres though...
