pick up the ball with an ogre if you dont have too much pressure
block the black orcs with your gobbos
dont spread you ogres too much
try to make 3dice blocks as much as you can, you have no rerolls and skull/powskull happens more than you think Smile

Anyway, good luck, a team with no reroll is really hard to play with

Unless they are Wood Elves... I had a WE team with no RR that went 5/0/0 until they gained a RR at the start of a match due to kick off result - then they had a hard fought draw! Won all other games since...

No RR = Victory for the Silverbirch Slayers!!! Very Happy

Am I still asleep or are we talking about the LRB Ogre Team? Cause if we do, they can use Re-Rolls as much as any other guy, no Big Guy Skill for those Bastards. (but if thy use the RR up on the Bonehade rolls you are right again Twisted Evil )

It rather depends on why you made the team. Ogres are a team that reward long term development imho. So winning a particular game (vs Orcs?) isn't really what they're about - you should expect to loose a few (a lot?) to get them skilled.

Starting-out bashy teams without a lot of block are actually good games for Ogres. They can out muscle most strength teams provided they don't have block/dodge to avoid going down. So playing a starting Orc/Khemri/Chaos/Undead team etc is actually easier than high AG teams/dorfs/norse/zon's cause they can't avoid you by dodging or cause as many turnovers from both down results (you'd still go down, but so would they Smile

So against a new Orc team you want them to get in a bashing match - they need assists - you don't. One goblin to hold the ball, cage him loosely, and man-mark the BOBs with your other goblins. If you can match your Ogres vs their lineman or blitzers you should be able to make steady progress. Just don't let yourself be crowded.

Importantly, without rerolls - don't feel you have to block ! You don't want to open your cage by rolling a bonehead so force them to knock you over. They'll have to commit numbers to the task, hopefully freeing up space elsewhere in the field.

Early on Ogres should play a running game ( Laughing @ the irony). It's the gobbos that do the running of course. Leave TTM for times when you're desperate or have a reroll to space. TTM on defence to break cages etc is ok - you're not causing turnovers on a failure.
