Half way through the 2006 season, there is one true god and his name is casimir. The Orcs of <b>Whaaaaaa!</b> have dominated play recently and lead the league with 132 points. Among the trophies are 2 Valhalla Cups and a Gladsheim Cup. Most disheartening has been the inability of recent opponents to even injure these sturdy buggers.
Right behind them at the other end of the bash spectrum are Ug's elven <b>Wilwarin</b> with 91 points. They also have three titles on their mantle ; Vidar Invitational, Frey Invitational ; Aesir Open. Ug is also in the running for coach of the year with a 4th victory with his CD team <b>Bashers & Dashers</b>.
The third team to stand out in the 1st six months is Pizzamugul's undead <b>American Standards</b> with 69 points. Depite only one tournament win, they have advanced far in most they have entered and accumulated points along the way.
The battle for the Uni Cup is wide open. but some of the CCC heavyweights are going to have to take the Valhalla crown away from Whaaaaaa! to have any chance of cathcing them.
The Race King trophy is up for grabs. This has been the most disapointing set of tourneys in the CCC so far with recent cups only fielding 4 teams. The five current leaders are all tied with a mere 25 points.
Overall we have had a good mix of races (despite complaints from some elves that we are too bashy). The following are the tourney winners by race :

So as we head into the 2nd half of the season, the league is strong. The only thing that would help are some more low TR teams to help build up the Racial tourneys. So if you have some 125-150 teams sitting around, bring them on over.

The 2006 Champion's Cup season ended with <b>American Standards</b> beating <b>Not-So-Superheroes</b> 2-0 to win the Battle of All Fathers year end tournament. The win placed <b>American Standards</b> as the 2006 Runner Up in the final Standings.
<b>Team of The Year</b> : <b>Whaaaaaa! - Casimir - Orc</b> - These mighty orcs accumulated 168 CCC points and withstood a late season charge by <b>American Standards</b> to win the CCC Crown. They won 4 CCC tournaments including 3 straight Valhalla Veteran Cups. This team is solid with no superstars and brings with them one of the largest fan bases in the CCC.

Yeah, big ups to Mully for keeping this thing going all year. Highly recommended for those with long-term goals and even for those who could only participate in some of the tournies. |
