Prehensile Tail seems only to have effect sometimes and not always when players are dodging out of his TZ.

Sometimes it says ROLL: 4 + -1 = 3 and
sometimes it says ROLL: 4 + 0 = 4 even though it appeares to be no difference between the situations to me.

Why is that? What am I missing?

It may only apply the roll when it makes the difference between a success and a failure, like Break Tackle. But I'm not sure, that's just a guess.

If he rolled 4 and needed a 4 it should have been a failure though.

Surre - sure it was like that? Try having a look at the log file located in the .zip [just open the log with word-/notepad].

I thought that too first, but then it can be -1 both when it matters and when it doesn't matter.

send me the result .zip file from the game and I'll take a look. My email can be found on any of the download pages.

I think I replied to someones email or PM telling me to try this out by repeatedly dodging away from a PREHENSILE TAIL player in a stand-a-lone game. Well I think my reply was talking about BREAK TACKLE instead.

But, I just tried PREHENSILE tail in a stand a lone game and I could not get an incorrect results. But yes, sometimes the modifier is -1 and sometimes it is 0. If the roll is a 1 = 6 then the modifier will be 0. This is because it doesn't matter what the modifier is at this point so the code skips checking for modifiers. On all dodges where the roll was 2 - 5 I got the correct modifier of -1.

If someone sees an incorrect modifier for prehensile tail where the roll was not a 1 and the roll was not a 6, please send me the log file or the results .zip file.

SkiJunkie: You replied to me and as you now say you took up the case with break tackle instead. But this answer was good, you are probably right that it only shows modifiers when the dice roll is between 2-5. I haven't checked yet but I will check tonight if this is the case. I succesfully dodged three times in a row with ghouls from a Prehensile Tail without any modifications, but it could just have been that I was so lucky to roll three 6 in a row. Very Happy

I seem to have run into a problem much like th one posted here. I was playing against elves (with AG4) and my Rat-ogres prehensile tail seemed to have no effect. They could dodge away on a 2+. In general it seems that the skill has no effect at all on my opponents ability to dodge away. It always reads Target 2 (or 3) +/- 1 = 2, or something like that. Can this be right??
