Just an observation, but it seems that until now Orcs are the most succesful race in the FUMBBL cup VII. At least when judging by the teams which have made it the furthest at this point, about half of those teams are Orcs!

Anyone want to share their thoughts on why this might be the case? Any of those Orc coaches want to share what their successful strategy is?

Cheers.

What spelledaren said. I could just as easily do it with 'flings, but that would be too embarrassing for my opponents. This way you can all blame the colour of the skin... Wink

Well AV9, undercosted positionals (so easy to save up a large bank balance), better speed and agility than many other bashers, the ability to TTM, easy skill choices and a diverse selection of stars.

These all make Orcs a very reliable team to do well in a Major, however they don't win that many despite being the most common race in the early rounds. And that's down to 1 thing, coaching Orcs rots the brain.

I'd say you7 should knock 5-10 CR off any coach who plays mostly plays Orcs as all the easy wins stunts their tactical growth and as soon as they meet a decent elf team or other basher they tend to come a croper.

Fumbbl Cup just lasts too long for the high agility races with low armour to triumph. In a long knock out tournament the orcs' high armour, cheap players and decent agility is going to trump the specialists.

MadTias shamelessly plugs his own major tourney statistics thread.

Your statistics on FUMBBL majors’ top-8 appearances are hideously outdated! Very Happy
