Id really appriciate support for the eee pc 8.9 inch screen which has a res of 1024 x 600. Playing on a mini pc is great as it allows for such a freedom of movement and bb. Also not that many games play on the little buggers and fumbbl is definatly one of the best that does. Would be nice if even this new client supported this size.

making the pitch follow the window's size while maintaining its aspect ratio (it would look strange if the pitch "squares" weren't square) would indeed be nice
but it might require that the icons themselves become resizable (and i don't know how hard that would be to achieve) |

yeah 8.9 works with 1024x600. I use it all the time on my netbook (aspire one).
Would be nice if the new version worked too. |

What's the magic there, Vesto? I use UNR on an EEE1000 and can not get it worked out for the life of me.. any input would be MUCH appreciated. |

Should I open a new thread for that? I tried every trick I know, but nothing works.
See here: http://raindog.de/bbowl.png
for detail and notice the absence of any kind of taskbar or the like. That picture was taken with "small field" and "resize windows" set. It appears impossible to resize Bbowl over the corners of the desktop, so that is no solution either.. anyone? |

Liondriel,
It looks like you have "show buttons" ticked on. Right click panel and go to preferences and be sure to untick the "show buttons" |

I'm also running Ubuntu Linux 9.04 netbook remix on an eeePC 1000HA. Everything seems to be working, except that the small field isn't loading and I can't get the menu up by key command or right-clicking to load it manually.
This post has some info on the problem but I'm having trouble understanding the solution. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks. |

My EEE is finally ready for FUMBBL.
Set JavaBowl to small field and NOT to resizeable windows. I also had to change from the UNR Desktop style "regular" or classic Desktop or whatever that is called, and then hide the top and bottom task bars.
The missing fields is a common place problem. You find fields of all designs in the download section here in the community part of the FUMBBL page. Pick any that includes small field images, you may possibly have to make sure the files end on .jpg, not .JPG (that seemed to irritate Jbowl for me).
Start a local game, go through the coin toss and all, then hit ALT+M (or was it CTRL+M?) to bring up the system menu. Pick your field image there and off you go
This did fix it for me, hope it helps for you. |
