Sorry if this is going over old ground....
Just had a game where several times my Troll failed his really stupid roll but while the yellow dot was still there (the one that indicates no tackle zones) his gaurd skill was still in effect when other blocks were made.
Me and my opponent both though that gaurd shouldn't work on a really stupid failed player, so my question is:
1) am I reading the rules wrong and gaurd still applies in this situation or..
2) this is a bug, in which case I'll report it.
Anyone know the score? |

to provide an assist
you must be in the tackle zone of the opponent you are assisting against
you do not require a tackle zone to provide an assist
therefore guard is a great skill for really stupid and or bone headed players
however
they cant NEGATE assists
as to negate an assist the person whose assist you are negating must be in YOUR tackle zone

a little drawing to explain what Thrall perfectly said:
AD
TF
A = attacker
D = defender
T = Troll with Guard
F = defensive assist
in this case, there's a +1 bonus to BOTH attacker and defender, because:
- The Troll is in the TZ of an opponent, but with Guard he can assist normally.
- The defensive assist is in the TZ of no one (since the Troll lost his TZ) thus can give an assist. |

This is changed in the Vault-rules coming up. (TBB)
After the change you need a tacklezone to assist. (If it ever will be official.) |
