"An apothecary may not be used to heal injuries for players pushed into the crowd" - "I'm a doctor, not a riot squad"

The words of the LRB, but what happens when the crowd takes to the field in a Field Invasion?

Technically the player is not pushed into the crowd, and as such the Apothecary should be allowed to heal, but common sense tell's us, that he should no more wan't to go out in the middle of a frenzied fight on the field, than into the stands.

So, can an Apothecary be used on players injured in a Fieldinvasion?

Common sense tells us lots of things that aren't compliant with the rules (see the interception rules).

Yes, an apothecary can be used on a Pitch Invasion.

Yes, and sometimes after a disastrous pitch invasion, he has to decide whom of the badly mauled players he wants to help.

Of coursae he can - it's not like the crowd stays on the field forever. They storm the field, maul some players then return to the stands. It is at that point the Apoth sneaks out to try and heal the injured.

As opposed to a crowd push where he is asked to go into the crowd to do his handywork.
