Alternately, be sure to have a full set of small weather pitches installed first - the download section of the site should have some. |

Is there a smaller version of the FBB Client?
I cannot fit it on my standard sized PC screen.
Or does anyone know of some common work around this issue I can do at my end? |

If you supply us with some more information (like screen size and the system you are running), we can give you even more advice. |

Catalyst32, if you really can't fit the FFB client on your screen you probably don't have a standard sized PC screen. Or well, at least not a current standard.
The FFB client fits on 1024x768 (although you might have to configure your java to not display the status bar at the bottom). According to the stats collected by the site, more than 95% of the visitors to the site have a resolution that is equal to, or higher, than that.
I'm also guessing that a fair share of the 5% or so that are left behind are people accessing the site through a secondary device (smartphone or netbook) and that they have access to a larger screen normally. |

Adding to this thread... I found the advice here helpful before.
I am buying a new computer to replace my now inoperable old piece of junk. I was wondering what size screen is needed to play using the ffb client? I was thinking of getting a laptop but playing ffb is a very important in making my choice. Any advice on this? |

Experimenting a little bit, it seems the FFB client just barely fits into 768 vertical pixels. If that's your max screen resolution, you'll probably need to move the dock (Mac) or task bar (Windows) to the side instead of the bottom.
If you have the option of going a little larger (1440 x 900, for example, my current reso), you'll probably find it more satisfying overall--and not just for FFB.
Hope that helps. |

Thanks J.
Any other advice? Anyone?
I know the whole world doesn't use inches but here in the USA every store I go into uses Sqaure Inches to describe the size of the screen on Computer Monitors and Television Screens. Can anyone tell me what size monitor/screen I would need? |

my screen is 14 inch, and the client only just fits, I have to move the tool bar out the way, so 14 inch minimum. |

I remember that someone mentioned that XGA (1024 x 768) is the minimum size. The accurate size was a couple of pixels smaller (perhaps 1023 x 760? I don't remember).
Inches don't matter, its the resolution that matters. More info on screen resolutions is on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution
The physical size of the screen is not the correct measure: there are screens with bigger or smaller pixels (pixels per inch, ppi). Only the resolution matters in this case. |
