I think a bonesaw sound for the apo is great.
For surfs, the sound of someone being repeatedly punched by a mob seems better to me than some reference to surfing on waves. |

We should have Wilhelm Scream in there somewhere. |

The only ocean/wave sound on pdsounds is a bit lame but there are a few usable seconds maybe for a crowd surf...
This one on soundbible.com is a decent crashing wave sound but you might need explicit permission to re-use it in the client.
How about this when a treeman gets knocked over?
Petty Cash
Vamp biting Thrall
GFI-fail in the endzone
Weather change effects:
Perfect Weather
Rain
Dry/Heatwave
Snow/Blizzard -- don't like this one. ideally some nice crunchy footsteps or howling gale blizzard would be better but i can't find a good sample
This might be better for Blizzard
Struggling for Bright Sunshine now... I was hoping for a sort of "Aaargh! My eyes!" or "I'm blind!!" but perhaps need to use the perfect day one here and find an alternative for that one... |

GFI failing should be a spectator sound. I'd love using that one. |

Agreed.
If the following 3 punching sounds were put into a 5-6 punch combo it'd make for a good "beaten up by the crowd" sound effect:
http://soundbible.com/995-Jab.html
http://soundbible.com/992-Right-Cross.html
http://soundbible.com/991-Left-Hook.html
There's also a Right Hook (which i can't differentiate from the Left Hook) and an Upper Cut (which i don't like the sound of). |

I just threw my idea out on a whim, thinking it would be fun. But now that I have scene some responses it got me thinking. I really like some of the ideas getting thrown out there.
1)Trip wire sound effect on a failed GFI in the endzone
2)Slipping in mud sound effect for the double 1 GFI roll
3)SOund effects for weather
4)Cackling goblin type laughter for a sneaky git foul
5)Apoth sound effects based on result of the roll, So 3 effects in essence.
6)Wackey sound effect for a double 1 pass/catch/failed hand off. |

Yes. The sound of a mob beating would be perfect.
Apoth and wrestle sounds would be nice too.
Let it be said that I love the sounds on this client. Even my wife laughs from the other side of the room
A few more is better but overkill would be bad. |

I agree that you can "overkill" on the sound if for example there was a unique sound for every skill/action and so forth.
BUT
The ideas so far presented I would say are unique events during a match that if a sound effect was added would add some enjoyment to the expeience of playing the game. In fact the vast majority of these sounds would come up only once in whille and not constitute the label of overkill. |

You are suggesting 3 different sounds for assorted '1' rolls. I for one hugely enjoy the shock of hearing a very sudden KO or RIP on a failed GFI (referring to your ideas 1 and 2). These are the funniest moments in the game IMO - I think extra sounds are unnecessary.
Same for failed handoffs... the bounce roll is hilarious on its own, especially when it bounces multiple times.
Those are good as-is! |

Agree with Beerox that additional sounds on normal actions/fails would perhaps be a step too far. Most of the routine actions have very short sound effects (i've never been fond of the "step" sound -- i still think IT is too much). |
