Hi everybody!
Here's a dumb question that I have. I intend to play a Necromantic team and I wonder about something. If I manage to kill a player on the opposing team, I get it back as a zombie player for my team, once per match.
Is this zombie free or do I have to spend 30000gp to get it?
It isn't clearly stated anywhere in the LRB, unless I just didn't found it... |

I'd check out page 28 of the LRB. You get to add a Zombie to your roster. Paying for the zombie is never mentioned. |

Paying for it is never mentionned, but getting it for free isn't either...
Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but if I am to convince my two fellow bloodbowlers, I will need more than "it isn't stated otherwise"
I find it logical that the new player is free, cause the Necromancer (Me  ) just take the body from the other team trash can and raise it. Its not like going to the graveyard, dig up some corpses until one is not too badly putrified and getting back to the practise field without being spotted by any law enforcement unit. (that's a 30k gp journey...)
It seems that my friends are the only two in the world to believe we have to pay for raising the dead.

(i'm not going to quote the whole section..it can be found online)
note the underlined part. It doesn't say "and my only be added to the Undead team if it has fewer than 16 players and enough treasury to purchase the zombie."
The only restriction on it is that you must have less than 16 players on your roster for the zombie to be added. |

It does say 'immediately added to the teams roster' and dosen't mention any kind of payment.
If you show your friends the wording then its pretty obvious you get it free.
If they still don't accept it then you may want to look into making some more corpses to reanimate. |

Plus you get it as a result of the Raise dead spell which should mean you dont buy the player, just reanimate him. |
