New York did the Ratt Snell thing on turn 1, and then almost pulled out a 1-0 halftime lead with a turn 8 -2d block that freed the ball for a linerat who ran for the (wrong) endzone in an effort to get the ball out of bounds. It was the third successful -2d block of the half for the Rats, and almost worked perfectly as the crowd threw it across the field where the Butte kickers needed to pull off a fancy passing play to score. They pulled it off like elves, however, and went into the half tied up 1-1 and receiving the kick.
8 turns later, there were no Rats on the field and the Kickers move on with a 2-1 victory. |

Essen fell to Winchester 2-1 in playoffs last night, extending Essen's playoff losing streak to four straight games. The league's top SPP player, Stefan "Eyes of Gold" Feld, also took a second perm during the process, giving him -AG to go with his niggle. Essen is currently debating whether to use their potion to extend his career, or whether to retire him as part of necessary salary cuts before Season X. |

Butte beats Lindisfarne in OT in epic bash fest with some crazy dice, the last being an (un)lucky Turn 19 bounce of the ball changed the entire field in a flash for the Turn 20 win, but Coach OTS set himself up to make the most of it when it happened, so Respect to him for a hard-earned victory.
Lots of players out during the 2 1/2 halves, but almost all KO's that returned, with a few painful exceptions for Butte. The Midnight Sons softened them up for their next opponent and survived to brag about it for next year, and all in their 2nd season in the League. |
