Human Ogres have throw team mate! But it would be so depressing to have the goblin die on the first throw attempt. |

Well if I nuffled my way to unforlorning UW with a TV 1000k entry eternal glory would be price enough. Alas, it does not seem too likely. |

Only four of the eight winners of Black Cup have welcomed the prize, an underworld Goblin, into their team. I think that this clearly classifies such a prize as garbage and should be replaced with something valuable. |

Is it better than an Underworld Goblin with the skill Pro for a value of 70.000 gold? |

It would be a godsend for some whose games routinely go over 120 minutes. |

As I have no voice in the decision as to what the prize is I feel free to comment.
Dominik is being selfish and is plain wrong.
Too often we have seen major winning teams use the advantages they gain to dominate the majors for the next few years. Under my watch prizes were reduced. Still fun, fluffy and team benefiting, but less game breaking. I still hold this is a good line to aim for.
Also Underworld Goblins are AWESOME. The only team that can't find a use for it is Underworld, and they never win anything. He was given pro to reduce his effectiveness (and slow his growth), as otherwise i feared he might be overpowered as a prize.
He is stunty, and can dodge into anywhere.
He has ag3, many teams need that.
He can mutate, an option 2/3rds of teams lack.
He can be TTM'd, creating new plays for many rosters.
EVERYONE tries to kill them, making them good diversions.
Goblins are fun, the (possibly) main reason we play games.
I should know, i won Scott. And he is now 43 games old, and the 5th oldest 'Dwarf' on the roster. He can cover so many jobs, all of them badly. Scott rocks. |

You're wrong. I talked about this fact many years ago. Prizes are indeed a motivation for myself to participate in majors.
A prize which isn't taken by four of eight winners isn't a prize. It's not even a trophy.
And personally I find it fun and challenging to encounter one of these pimped out teams and try to beat them in a major and make them lose their beautiful prizes.

I cannot remember a poll or conversation here, so it was a solely admins decision?
Not to forget that CRP inducements help out very much unlike those of LRB 4.

May I feed you with a Goblin in near future? You Troll must be very hungry. |

Finally a prize should be something everyone blindly takes. That is a skill at minimum and at maximum something we have seen on FUMBBLs birthday.
A prize would be also something like "you get a positional or lineman from any roster for free with a price difference of not more than 10.000 gold to the cost of a lineman of your race.
So would a Chaos team accept a Human Thrower?
Would a Goblin team accept a Human Lineman?
Would a Wood Elf team accept a Black Orc Blocker? |

The goblin does suck as a prize. I'm all for keeping things balanced and don't want to see a team get a massive advantage from the basis of winning one tourney, however the goblin is far and away the worst prize of winning any major. |

Just looking at the details I'm inclined to agree with Dominik and Malmir on this one.
If you're worried about OTT OP prizes then just give a single skill or some gold or removing a niggle or something. People never say no to simple stuff like that. |
