Hi,
with Coronavirus causing league cancellations around the world, there is a big interest in using Fumbbl to "import" league teams, i.e. recreate them in Fumbbl and play league with them.
I have covered how to use the tournament skill set for lower TV teams, and test mode, but is there an expert guide to adminning league teams, increasing stats, adminning injuries, that sort of thing?
Thanks,
Mike |

Not that I know of...but since I do it for a couple of leagues I can at least answer your questions. |

It's not the full guide, but this helped me a lot. There are a few things that are important to have such as league being open to recruiting and allowing custom rosters. Once set up right, league admin can edit teams that join. This said, I'm still a newbie to this.

On this note, do we know how to remove stats or give injuries? |

Hi Sann, yes you can do all those things except edit Fan Factor, thanks to Christer's recent work. I recently did this to set up the Rabidass Super League - which uses only the famous team rosters (eg. Chaos Allstars, Gouged Eye...). It works pretty smoothly, there is only one small bug around SPP. If you manually increase these for the start to award extra skills, it automatically awards those extra skills again after each game. So if a player starts with say 31spp, he is automatically awarded three extra skills after each game regardless of anything earnt on the pitch. The coach can select them and the league commissioner can then delete again - bit of a faff but only takes a few minutes! |

The interaction between SPP and skills is pretty straight-forward but can cause some weird behaviour due to some specific details.
The general rule is: After each game, the site checks the SPP for the player (regular SPP plus extra SPP) and finds the number of expected skills. Then it counts the number of skill increases the player has and compares the two. If there's less skills on the player than expected, skill rolls are added to the player.
To complicate this, there are different types of skills: Regular skills and skill rewards. The latter are added by league staff to players using "Add Skill Reward" and don't count to the number of skills the player has. Doing this will cause the issue DrDeath describes.
Assuming you want to import an existing roster and not have to deal with this after every game, the following process is better:
1. Edit the player and add the "extra spp" as before
2. "Grant Skill Roll" the correct number of times (3 for 31spp for example)
3. Pick skills for the player as appropriate
4. Edit skills to adjust for doubles/stats that weren't rolled
At this point, the player has the proper number of regular skills and won't get extras after each game. |

It would be neat if we could also edit the SPPs for the player to reflect the SPP value the player had in the original roster. So that a player with e.g. 40 SPP that got granted his 3 skill rolls will get the forth skill when gaining 11 SPP. Currently he would sit at 11 SPP and not get his fourth skill, if I understood corretly. |
